Cup of Happy East 04.02.2021

"If disturbing or nightmarish dreams are routinely interrupting your sleep, take the time to talk to your doctor about it. Your dreams may or may not be signs of a bigger problem, but you should seek help regardless, as frequently disrupted sleep can negatively impact your health."

Cup of Happy East will be hosting an online event on February 3rd @ 3:00 PM for LGBTQ+ community members & allies! We will be sharing ways to get involved in our LGBTQ+ mental health support group called My Identity, My Self (MIMS), a safe space for folks to share & learn about LGBTQ+ identity, history, relationships & more through a mental health lense. We will also be holding a workshop that discusses the resiliency of the LGBTQ+ community and how it is articulated through art & expression, focusing on Black, Indigenous and communities of color. DM or comment if interested!

It’s important to keep in mind that no coping mechanism for mental health is a one size fits all. We are all different and it’s totally ok to try new tools to help us regulate our emotions: this one is called grounding. Grounding is a great technique to help you bring yourself back to the present moment and if you get distracted that’s ok, just start where you left off :) Repost by @selfcarespotlight
