Safe Routes to School Challenge The City of Cupertino challenges students during the month of September to take a bike ride, scooter or skate to their school! There are fewer cars on the road during COVID, which creates great conditions to explore the best route to school, which is an easy bike-ride away for most. Find the Suggested Routes to School map for your school here: www.Cupertino.org/schoolmaps. The City’s Safe Routes to School program will reward participating stude...nts with a package of Safe Routes to School-themed prizes: mini notebook, squishy globe, reflective zipper pull, pen-stylus-highlighter, pencil, eraser, sticker and cycling tips. Note: CUSD schools are closed to the public. When you arrive, feel free to snap a picture in front of the school sign, but otherwise please do not ride on school property. Always practice social distancing if you encounter others, and we highly recommend wearing a mask. To participate, send a photo anytime during the month of September to [email protected]. The photo could be of your smiling student or their bike/scooter in front of their school (or any school near you if you child’s school is too far to ride to). If it’s not obvious from the photo, please tell us the name of the school and how many kids participated. We will distribute prizes in October, and will contact participants with distribution details in early October. Social Distancing Flyer - https://www.cusdk8.org//Social%20Distance%20Flyer-Cupertin
