Cupcake Obsession

Elsa’s still got it after all these years! On another note, this was a bittersweet cake for me. I’ve made Paisley’s birthday cakes for a number of years and this is the last one I got to make before we move to Idaho. While I’m excited about our new adventure, I will miss all my wonderful, loyal customers so much!

Having the right tools is essential. I get the sides of my cakes super straight using The Frostinator from @evilcakegenius. I follow it up with a quick swipe of a bondo knife just for an extra polish. Then I use my @trekell_art_supplies Golden Taklon series brushes to hand paint the homemade fondant. Finished off this sweet little birch tree stump cake with some fresh sunflowers and baby’s breath!

I love when couples ask me to recreate their wedding cake for their first anniversary. Congratulations Henry and Michelle on one full year of wedded bliss!

This black and gold geode cake was a stunning centerpiece for a bunch of mini cupcakes. Congratulations Kerry and Sean ...it was a lovely wedding!

All the wedding treats! Vanilla cupcakes with raspberry buttercream, lemon cupcakes with lemon buttercream, and chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel buttercream and a salted caramel drizzle! Vanilla macarons with vanilla buttercream! So much yumminess in one place!

The family heirloom topper on this cake is priceless! Congratulations Darren and Missy!

Thanks to @evilcakegenius I was able to make these sweet monogrammed macarons as a special gift for a daughter-of-the-bride. The gold royal icing means no messing with lustre dust, no painting, no fuss! Thanks evil cake peeps!

When you get together with friends to celebrate a few September and October birthdays and they’re afraid to make you a cake so they get apple fritters...

May the force be with you? Live long and prosper? Don’t worry, be happy? I know it’s one of those... Inside is vanilla cake, raspberry filling and vanilla raspberry buttercream! Cookies are soft butter cookies with almond icing.

Congratulations Erik and Nick! Shrimp and Grits were pretty annoyed that their pawrents wouldn’t let them be in the wedding. But the dads more than made up for it by letting them ride along in the cake! It’s always such a pleasure to make a wedding cake for friends. I’ve known Erik since he was in high school. He spent many, many Sunday evenings at our home. I met Nick several years ago when we were both involved with Relay for Life. I’m happy that these two fine, young men have found each other. I wish them both a lifetime of love and happiness.
