Up next: Pet Care! Tomorrow, Tuesday April 7 at 4pm, our very own veterinarian Dr. Bill Ridgeway will be leading us in learning to take care of our pets at home.... Many of us are spending more time with pets at home these days. We will learn about basic pet grooming like brushing their teeth. And what about COVID-19? Are our pets at risk or contagious? Meet us back here on Facebook tomorrow, Tuesday April 7 at 4pm. You are invited to join us from the comfort of your home. And maybe your pet can watch along too! NOTE: This is intended to be informative and fun, but not a merit badge class. Open to everyone, anywhere. Feel free to share with others. This will be our fourth episode in our Long Beach Scouting Live series. We will publish future Long Beach Scouting Live events and schedule on our website: https://www.longbeachbsa.org/scoutingathome

A few days ago, over 350 people from 22 units showed up early Saturday morning to place flags on the graves of veterans. Due to the great turn out of people, th...e empty green expanses were turned into a sea of American Flags. Here is an email we received after the event was over: "Thank you for championing this event. Without the men and women we honored today we wouldn't have this great country, the rights and many opportunities we have. Today was the embodiment of reverence and service to our community." Special thanks to Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cypress CA, Cypress for partnering with DAV Chapter 19 and Scouts. Forest Lawn was very helpful by providing the flags for the graves and patches for all who helped, along with allowing us to raise the flag that morning. DAV (Disabled American Vets) Chapter 19 provided coffee, donuts, milk & juice to all the participants and drove bins of extra flags around the cemetery so no one would run out. A huge thank you to event coordinator and Scout leader Dave Damp for making this happen. Also, big thanks go to Erin Lopez of Troop 140 and Dave Simon of Crew 247 for their very great help in making this a successful and meaningful morning for all involved.
