What is the Minimum Wage in CA?? Effective 1/1 of this year, California employers with 25 employees or less must pay a minimum wage of $11 per hour to its employees. All other employers (26 employees or more) must pay $12 per hour as a minimum wage. These numbers will go up each year, culminating in a $15 wage by 2022 and 2023... Some cities and counties have higher minimum wage standards -- i.e. effective July 1 of this year, LA County and City of Los Angeles each will mandate a minimum wage of $13.25 for businesses with 25 employees or less and $14.25 for all other employers
