Puppet Stories About Numbe...rs and Math by Professor Johanna Smith will debut on Oct. 30. Originally conceived as a touring production for local elementary schools, Professor Smith brilliantly reconfigured the show to cater to distance learning for our younger audiences. Join Granny, Mr. Kilo, Hecto, Deci, Milli, Centi, Micro, Nano and Deka as they show kids just how much fun math can be! Mathematical Mayhem is a series of FREE puppet shows beginning October 30th on our all-new Vimeo channel! On Thursday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m., The California State University Entertainment Alliance - CSUEA and Pipelines Mobile will present "esports 101: Careers and Representation in Gaming and Entertainment" via Zoom. Participating industry leaders are scheduled to include Arabian Prince, songwriter/rapper/founder, INOV8 Next Open Labs; Eric C. Wallace, vice president of Gaming & Esports, Glo Navy & DigiGlo; Femi Okusanya, vice president of Gaming & Esports, FaZe Clan; and Kevin Hoang, global program manager, Twitch. The free "zoominar" will be moderated by CSUEA Managing Director Simone Nelson.

Responding to the growing need for creativity in these socially isolated times, the Kind Art Collective is a group of CSUSB graduate students offering free art supply kits along with step-by-step instructions to accompany online art classes on Zoom. The CSUSB students are pursuing their Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art, a terminal degree program within CSUSB Art & Design that prepares graduates for careers as studio artists, art teachers, college professors, art curators an...d more. KAC recently conducted its first online art class with the Boys and Girls Club of Rialto. Upcoming projects will include face mask design and super hero illustration. The group offers small and thoughtful art projects to the local community to cultivate inclusion, inspiration and imagination. Super excited to share that the ensemble members of CSUSB Opera Theatre are now in the throes of stagings and soundtrack recording for Missy Mazzoli's 'Song fro...m the Uproar', an opera based on the life of early 20th Century feminist Isabel Eberhardt. We are working in collaboration with critically acclaimed dancer/choreographer Faith Jensen-Ismay of the San Diego based dance company, Mojalet Dance Collective to create an new and innovative staging of the work. The soundtrack will feature LA based hotshot players Steve Thachuk on electric guitar, Phil O'Connnor on clarinet, Sarah Wass on flute, Scott Worthington, Double Bass, our own Kevin Zhang on electronics and Alastair Edmonstone on piano. PLEASE SHARE: All CSUSB students are required to complete mandatory End Sexual Violence Training each academic year during the fall term. Federal and state law and the CSU Chancellor’s Office executive orders mandate this yearly training for all students, including online and graduating students. Now that the October 9 deadline has passed, a registration hold will be placed on the account of all students who did not complete the training. While the hold is in effect, students... will be unable to register for Spring 2021 classes. To complete the required training and remove the hold, log into myCoyote, click My Tasks then select End Sexual Violence Training. The hold will be released by an automated process within 24 hours of completion. For more information, visit csusb.edu/title-ix/training.

The CSUSB CAL Podcast’s 20-minute debut episode includes the story of Dr. Popescu’s journey from Romania to the United States and a discussion abou...t the xREAL Lab's use of extended reality (XR) technologies like virtual and augmented reality. Hosted by Kelli Cluque, operations manager of Coyote Radio, the free program is available now on Spotify and the Apple Podcasts app and soon will be listed in other popular podcast directories and apps.
