CSULB Tzu Ching

It’s really a great pleasure to be able to meet friends and social even when we are all staying at home. Last December general meeting we learned about the benefits of eating plant based meals, made hot cocoa from scratch, got to know each other and the club more, and played jackbox! Wish everyone a healthy and joyful new year. We hope to see you as well as new friends this coming semester!

Tb to one of the volunteering events last semester: Food Packing for people in need to help get through the holiday season Here are some sharing by Thu, who volunteered with Tzu Chi for the first time: Participating in Tzu Chi volunteering activity for the first time, I felt super excited. Everything went smoothly and well. Due to the pandemic, everyone wore a mask, and there were plastic gloves with different sizes for everyone's use of comfort. When we started pac...king fruits, people there taught me the way to distinguish fresh fruits from rotten ones. After a few hours of packing, we had lunch; I like tea egg and the pastry a lot. I enjoy learning new language, so when I heard people there said "Meiyou" many time, I asked what that mean and learned that it means "no, nothing." We finished packing fruits after a couple of hours. Everyone cheered, took photos, and said goodbye to each other. A Shi Gu introduced me the functions of different areas, and my friend took me around headquarter to see how beautiful it was. That was such an interesting experience!! I'm looking forward to joining more Tzu Chi volunteering activities in the future.

Each of us are leaders for our own selves, and we even have the full potential to be leaders within our social groups, communities, and much more. This is a great chance for CSULB students to build their skills. Also a great chance to just hop in and get to know some friends. We’d love to see you online!
