This is an unthinkable tragedy. Parenting a child with ASD can be incredibly stressful, particularly at this time when neither support nor services are sufficiently accessible. If you or anyone you know is finding parenting stress to be unmanageable, please reach out for help. Co-Directors Fenning and Baker are currently reaching out to our local colleagues in hopes of developing a collaborative network to address this issue in our area. Children with ASD are at high-risk for poor oral health. Dr. Fenning led a recent paper by the Autism Treatment Network (ATN) examining access to dental care for children with ASD and identifying certain children with ASD who are at particularly high risk.
