Welcome to another Monday! As always, here are some #AAPUpdates: Our drop-in hours are still happening this week! Schedule is listed above. If you would like to schedule your own appointment, head on over to csuchico.edu/AAP and click schedule an advising appointment to see our available time slots. The LAST DAY to drop a class is this Friday! Give us a call if you need assistance. Finals week is next week. Drink your water, stretch, and make sure that you’re taking... care of yourself as best you can. We’re in this together. Make this week a good one! #chicoaap

Taking in every second of the colors on campus! We hope you had a lovely week, Chico State- this is your reminder to use this weekend to relax, study, and take care of yourself. We hope everyone had a healthy, happy, and safe thanksgiving break! Here are some updates for your Monday: December 14-18th is final exam week. Make sure to check out your exam schedule in the Portal to stay on top of your tests! The last day to drop a class with our new add/drop form is December 11th. If you are feeling unsure about your success in a class, make sure to give our office a call or stop by drop-in hours listed on our website. Keep it up, Chico State- the end of the semester is closer than you think! #chicoAAP

Meet one of our AMAZING interns, Daisy! Here’s what she has to say about the AAP Internship: There are so many amazing aspects of being an intern for Academic Advising. From getting to know such a diverse community of students on an individual level to helping them achieve their goals is such a rewarding feeling for me. As a first generation student, I understand how difficult navigating through the college system can be. Getting a college degree is such a milestone in life, but the process can be stressful. Knowing that I have the ability to help and motivate others to keep striving to get that degree is what makes me happy to be an advising intern. Thanks for all of the great work, Daisy! We are rebooting our #MEETAAP series, but this time we are focusing on our Intern team! This week we are highlighting Emily Bruns, the person behind our social media accounts. Here’s her message to you: Working in advising has been one of my favorite experiences since coming to Chico State. The process was intimidating at first, and I wasn’t confident in my abilities to advise students on academics, but I quickly realized that everyone on the team was there to help me succee...d. The staff made me feel at home on the very first day. I love working with students, and I also love that I was given the opportunity to be creative at work! Being a part of the advising team really helps you recognize the areas that you excel, and will help you build on the areas of leadership where you need improvement. I feel so lucky to give back to my Chico community with such a great group of peers! Thanks for your work, Emily!

Which will be a great opportunity to hear from speakers about mobilization and making a change. Check it out, and have a restful weekend!

There’s nothing that we can say right now that will ease the tensions and struggles the campus community is going through. We are with you, all of you, during these trying times. One thing that we know about the Chico community is that we are resilient. To provide as much aid as we can, we have compiled a list of links to important resources campus and the county is offering - covering everything from mental health assistance to fire aid.
