CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS Sierra Resource Conservation District, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Central Sierra Resiliency Fund and People Food and Land Foundation are teaming up to help the Alder Springs Water Association and property owners with soil stabilization at 10 am on Saturday,... January 9 . We are looking for volunteers to spread weed-free rice straw and fill sandbags to help with erosion control to try to save the second oldest community this side of the Sierras. Training will be provided. To volunteer please send an RSVP to Lisa at [email protected] Meet at the intersection of Auberry Rd and Alder Springs Rd We highly recommend carpooling as parking is limited. Masks required. At the moment authorities are encouraging people planning to visit Shaver Lake to stay home for possible evacuations and emergency vehicles.
