Went out to Folsom Lake this weekend...or what used to be Folsom Lake. I was swimming right here over the summer. Hopefully we get some rain and snow to fill it up again. Crazy.

Went to look at Christmas lights last night. Ellie couldn’t help it. She had to get out and walk through the light tunnel at one house. So exciting!

The kids decorated their gingerbread house last night. It’s amazing how much of the building materials get put in their mouths and not on their house! lol.

Spent the last couple of days camping in Joshua Tree National Park. Beautiful but harsh landscape. Everything out there is trying to kill you! lol. Amazing weather and lots of good times.

Walked outside a couple of nights ago to find a beautiful sunset cloud formation and a few new treasures in our garden.

Had a fun time in Santa Cruz this last week. Jake was on the hunt for shells and we found some cool ones, but I get to claim the smallest sand dollar ever! That’s it on my finger. Smaller than my fingernail. Super cool. So we’re the clam shells we dubbed butterflies. Glad he finds interest in the natural world. So refreshing!

I love walking out to our garden and finding a few more blooms despite the heat.

Went to the nursery to get a couple of plants we picked out previously and when I got back to the car I found this art installation awaiting me! lol just wished she hadn’t drawn of the the paper and left a 2 in ballpoint pen mark on our center console!! Oh well, better than her watching TV...

Had a blast last week up in Likely. RVing with Leah’s folks. Had a whole lake to ourselves and the kids kayaked like crazy. Got to explorer the lava tubes in Modoc County. Nature is amazing! Oh, and Jake dropped his salami sandwich which made him, the salami sandwich angry. lol

Had a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday. My mom joined us for a tea party. We had an amazing time! The kids loved it too. I was surprised! Not sure what’s going on with my hair in this picture but something tells me I need a haircut! lol

Trying to keep the kids busy without screen time. Puzzle, chalk, random birthday crepe paper obstacle courses, uno, soccer skills practice, piano, dance parties, and more! My favorite thing my wife is working with them on is keeping a journal. I love reading those when I get home at night!
