Zibechi cites expensive health care, stagnant wages and extreme income inequality, the political divide and skyrocketing gun sales as evidence of an empire in decline. A good read! https://chiapas-support.org/20//09/the-fall-of-the-empire/

So, we learn from this article the good news that solidarity aid has been delivered in addition to the bad news that even before paramilitaries burned the warehouses, they were attacking Zapatistas. https://chiapas-support.org//caravan-heads-out-to-deliver/

The Otomí takeover/occupation of INPI is to obtain dignified housing and the CNI-CIG is supporting it. Here's a good analysis from Magdalena Gómez. shttps://chiapas-support.org/2020/11/01/the-ya-basta-of-the-indigenous-otomi-community/

"The indigenous peoples articulated in the CNI and the EZLN are also, in Mexico, the principal resistance in this struggle in defense of life." https://chiapas-support.org//the-new-war-of-conquest-and-/

. . . . . . See more

IN MAY 2020, the Abolition Convergence had planned to host a pre-conference to the Native American Indigenous Studies Association gathering in Toronto called Imagining and Decolonizing Abolitionist Futures. It was canceled when the pandemic hit; but the work continued. Our organizing committee is a collaboration of artists, activists, academics, and people with direct experience with the carceral system. Our group includes Indigenous people, Black people, people of colour, wh...ite people, queer/trans* and 2-spirit people, younger and older people, people who have been incarcerated and people who have worked and struggled against incarceration, detention, deportation, and settler colonialism in various ways. We got together to provide this guide for Prisoners Justice Day, keeping in mind the metaphor of our conference was mushrooms playing a restorative role in rebuilding all the root systems that have been damaged. . . .
