The good folks at Harness, Dickey and Pierce put together this fascinating list of US Patent Office trivia. I had no idea there were ever fractional patent numbers, for example. Even if you aren't a patent attorney, there are some fun items in here. The winner of the pitch competition developed a way to grow truffles indoors, reproducibly. I had no idea how hard it was to grow truffles!

One of the reasons I like patent practice is that I am always learning something new. Reading Federal Circuit patent opinions is also instructive. If you were ever curious about treatment for heroin addiction, for example, this is an interesting opinion.
