CrossFit Fairway Park 02.01.2021

Day 33. The day after Christmas has everyone feeling a little lazy, but I put on my big boy boots and dragged my butt to a closed gym for another solo workout . CrossFit brings with it community and right now we are missing that aspect of our fitness. It’s been hard and lonely working out alone. Things I miss about my gym: ... Laughing with other people. Working out around someone moving faster and having it push you harder to try and keep up. Talking about life and having it feel cathartic. Giving high fives after a tough workout. Hope is around the corner, we just need to hang on. You need to hang on to some semblance of fitness so when you come back you’re not starting from ground zero. I need to hang on to the business so you have a gym to come back to. We both need to do our part. For now let’s just keep taking it one day at a time. #WeAreFairwayPark #GrowMuscles #StayActive #DoSomething

Day 32. It’s Christmas Eve and I’m at the gym working out alone, . But when you’re in a routine you’re in a routine. My plan for today is to eat clean for 2 meals and then enjoy all the Christmas goodies later for dinner. I’m going to purposefully not eat as much carbs as I normally do, this will save room for the heavy dose of carbs I’ll be enjoying later (cookies, tamales, etc.). It’s not perfect but at least I have a plan. Hope everyone has a great Christmas. ... Thank you Jesus for my gym and members old and new. Day 28. Today marks four weeks. When I think about it now it feels like it went by fast . Then why doesn’t it feel fast when we first start? I think it’s mental. We tend to put ourselves down before starting something, it’s called Self Sabotage and even I am not immune to it. Still not following? Here’s an example:... Before starting I would constantly tell myself negative things like, You’re going to fail and everyone is going to see it or Do I really have what it takes to do this?. These negative thoughts would hit me hard throughout the beginning. As I persisted I slowly gained more and more confidence and pretty soon was in a routine and things started to feel normal. That’s the point in which you usually can look back on things and think , Wow, that time just flew by!. I challenge you guys in the future to try and recognize your own Self Sabotage talk, beat it down like you would a bully in a playground. NO MERCY!!! Day 26. Working out alone has been pretty tough but I’m sure I don’t have to tell you guys that since you’re in the same boat. Hardest part of the week has been: Doing my extra work like body building or ab routines.... Eating two cups of veggies per meal. That comes out to 10 cups per day!! Always feeling hungry. Like a big hippo. Even though I’m not completely thrilled about my weeks performance, I still got a lot done which inevitably is leading me in the right direction. Small progress is still progress. I hope you guys are starting to see that with my journey. Day 25. I’m finding it hard to keep up my veggie intake for 4 meals a day. It’s so much easier to eat Carbs all day long , it’s usually quicker to make and tastes a whole lot better. But I did find a way to enjoy them more, and all I had to do was add an AVOCADO . If you too have trouble with eating enough veggies, maybe think about giving this hack a try. It’s just enough flavor to make a difference (I think). ... I will admit avocados are a bit pricey but can you really put a price on your own health??? I’d rather spend a little more now and live longer in life than to save a few bucks each week only to die young because of a bad diet. But that’s just me. The best part about AMERICA ??? Is that you get to decide for yourself. But I hope you chose Veggies 4 Life . #SayNoToFastFood #EatVeggies #CoachAndHisGoals
