There are many ways to approaching and understanding the Tarot, and in this class we will focus our lens on how the ancient art of astrology informs the cards. Both beginners and more advanced students are welcome, as the planetary symbols are useful both for memorization and categorization, and for enhancing and nuancing your current understanding of... the Tarot. In this class we will focus on one classical planet per week, and look at how that planet appears in the Tarot via numerology, kabbalah, the decans, and some medieval Tarot lore. This is more straightforward than it sounds ~ working with seven planetary archetypes is a lot easier than memorizing the meanings of 78 distinct cards! As my student, you will reap the benefit of my almost twenty years as a practicing astrologer, and my academic background in the occult (yes, I really did write my dissertation on the Hermetic arts at UCLA!) I'm an experienced instructor, and I love to get into the weeds in discussion with my student-centered approach.
