I’m proud to be on the board of directors for Mending Hearts Family Counseling Center, a Non Profit Organization focused on supporting parents and addressing behavioral challenges for children 1-10. Principles of Parent Child Interactive Therapy ( PCIT) are taught through FREE parenting classes in person in the Inland Empire ( east of Los Angeles) and online. This new non profit with a big heart is off the ground and running but we could still use support by way of materials and monetary donations. EMDR is a highly effective treatment not just for adults but for children too! Of course it must be modified to be developmentally appropriate ( a.k.a. Fun!)- here’s a set up of a few things on the table to get ready for a session including the EMDR toolbox which includes ‘helpers’ ( puppets), brushes for bilateral tapping, markers for an art therapy intervention and lotion and containers to appeal to the senses for a ‘safe/ fun/ happy place’ resourcing intervention ( for grounding and calming). #emdr #emdrtherapy #emdrforkids #arttherapy #healing #healtogether #mft #therapyroom #wellness #traumatreatment

Was honored to return to my graduate alma mater, Loyola Marymount University today as a guest lecturer on assessing and diagnosing schizophrenia. Also got to see one of my paintings which had been displayed in the department for a group art show.
