Your help could mean the difference between Creative IQ surviving or going out of business. Your help will enable Creative IQ to continue to provide jobs for teaching artists, a venue to support local artists, and a safe, friendly, creative environment for the people of our community. ... Small business owners like me have been hit particularly hard by the COVID-19 shutdown. Like most small businesses, my monthly income has fallen to zero, while my business expenditures have largely remained the same. Even after I am allowed to reopen, the effects of the shutdown will continue to impact my business for months to come. One of my main concerns is the possibility that I will have to remain closed during the Summer. Summer Camp is Creative IQ’s busiest time of year, and the money earned from Summer Camp helps keep Creative IQ going through the slower months. Without the income made during Summer, Creative IQ could not survive. I am hopeful that with the help of my community during this unprecedented time, I can mitigate some of the long-term effects of this economic crisis on my small businesses and I won’t be forced to close permanently. Creative IQ was created as a labor of love to provide quality art education to students of all ages, support local artists and art teachers, and add value to our community. I have worked to uplift our community by collaborating with local non-profits (like the Richmond Neighborhood Center), local schools (like Lafayette Elementary School), and other merchants (as the president of the Balboa Village Merchants Association). I would like to be able to continue to remain a vital part of our community as a small business owner, art teacher and community leader. Campers also have the freedom to work on a painting different from the camp theme. All supplies included.
