Wondering what class is like on Zoom? Come and find out! We’re now open for audits. . . . But before you audit, there’s a few things you should know.... . . . Allowing actors to audit a class comes with risks for our studio. When you audit, you are invited into a sacred safe space where people risk, grow, share, and offer their work freely and at a very high level. And it is our top priority to protect this space. . . . So, here are some things you should know about our audit process. . . . we do not offer free audits. We charge $25 to audit which is applied to your class tuition should you join. I know some people advise never pay to audit. I advise, never trust a free audit. We honor our existing students, the quality of your experience, and use the $25 to insure that you are serious, safe, and genuinely interested in our work. Then, if you join the class, you can be assured that any auditor is a safe presence in our space. . . . you have to apply to audit. Our class is among the most sought after classes in the city. But not every class is right for every actor. To insure we are a good fit, we ask that you apply and get to know us a bit before we let you audit. . . . if you’re are approved to audit, we ask that you attend the entire class, participate fully, and remain on screen and present throughout. . . . We know how important it is to stay in training. We’ve been on zoom since March. We do group work, scene work, and monologues. It’s an amazing experience and we want to share it with you. . . . The world needs you now. . . . Presence, listening, vulnerability, and creativity shouldn’t be reserved for the stage.... . . . The world needs your presence now. People need your listening now. Relationships need your vulnerability now. And problems demand your creativity now. . . . Acting is not about faking it, pretending, or squeezing out an emotion. It’s about living fully in all of life’s circumstances. . . . Don’t wait until you’re on set to be vulnerable to the pain of others. . . . Begin now. See more

If there is one lesson 2020 can teach us, it’s this. . . . Actors, after the curtain closes, after they call cut, and after the lights dim, there is only you.... . . . When’s the industry stops, when the agent stops calling, and casting closes their doors, there is only you. . . . When world slows down, and people pass away, and the future is uncertain, there is only you. . . . The co-star you fought for yesterday, the agent you were stressed about, and the jobs you lost will have no impact on the lives you love. . . . Actors, the way you live your life is the most profound piece of art you will ever create. Serve others, keep your word, breath deeply, and play often. . . . Call your loved ones, txt your friends, and listen to someone. . . . There is no greater work of art than a life well lived. See more

Actors, read this. . . . Life as an actor can be hard. We all want to succeed, to thrive, and to #liveourbestlife; so, we look for answers, for tips, for guidance. We desperately search articles that warn about the worst audition mistakes every actors makes written by former casting directors who leverage their past experience against your future hopes. We pay top dollar for audition classes that know the right way to book the room, and we listen to agents tell us we need... more Twitter followers. . . It’s no wonder actors feel exhausted, less-than, and confused. This beautiful art of acting has become so transactional, so corporate, that it seems there’s no room for mistakes. If you aren’t exactly who they need you to be, forget about it pack your bags and move back home. . . This isn’t true. Your life, your art, and your career are long enough to withstand mistakes. . . . For the actor in practice, an actor pursuing value over success, every experience is beneficial. . . . A blown audition is a lesson. A failed pitch is a reminder. A lost job is an opportunity. For an actor in practice, the sting of failure and the burn of mistake are the friction needed to light the next fire. . . . Do not fear mistakes; there are none. Miles Davis See more

Actors, you aren’t going to live forever. . . . For many, this has been a time of slowing down, of pausing, and remembering what’s truly essential.... . . . So much of our life can be spent rushing between auditions, jobs, and classes. We can miss the very thing that makes our work meaningful, unique, and worth creatingour life. Last year, I turned 40. I don't consider that old, don't worry. I know I (probably) have plenty of time left, and there are lots of things still to do. But, after over 20 years of being in this industry, I can feel time moving. And after the last 6 months, I’ve been reminded of the importance of the important things Here are 5 things I hope to do before I die. An hour may not be worth what it used to be, but somehow, it feels more valuable." Link in bio.

Sometimes the voice we need the most is speaking a language that’s hard to hear. . . . Maybe it’s a subtle feeling, or a gentle reminder, or a whisper from the heart. Maybe it’s a loving touch or a strong embrace, or a home cooked meal. It’s in the little gestures, the held door, the made bed, and the warm coffee.... . . . Sometimes the things we need to hear can only be heard when we find a new way to listen. . . . It this deeply painful time, listen closely for the voice of calm, the voice of comfort, the voice of assurance. It may be in a smile, or a kindness, or a book, or a sip of wine. . . It times of great fear, we must use new ways of listening to hear new ways of living. @robperri_ See more

This is what I hope for (even in crazy times): I hope this book lights a new fire or fans an old flame. I hope this book reminds you of what’s possible. I hope this book brings you face to face with the unknown, and inspires you to take a step beyond what you thought was certain. ... I hope this book feels like a wind at your back whispering, The world needs what you have to offer. Keep going, keep going, keep going. I hope this book is a reminder that you are going somewhere, not just doing something. There is more beauty in you than destruction in the world. I hope you never stop. Please, never stop. Oh. Read this. . . . Too many actors have changed who they are to become who their agent wants them to be.... . . . But, who you are is your most valuable asset, and anyone asking you to change that is misguided. . . . Remember who you were before they told you who to be. . . . @robperri_ See more
