CR Life Safety 09.04.2021

PG&E notified Sheriff's OES early this morning that Humboldt County is now back in the scope of the Public Safety Power Shutoff that may begin as early as midnight tonight. We do not have any information from PG&E about what areas or how many customers may be impacted. We expect to have that information shortly and will update this post. PG&E will also start making notification calls to customers at 9:00 AM today. The earliest we have been advised that de-energization will begin is around midnight tonight, and some areas and counties will be shut down later tomorrow.

CR Life Safety 15.03.2021

Greetings everyone! As you can see, our committee logo has changed as well as our committee name. We are now the Life Safety Committee which was formed by combining the Emergency Preparedness and Safety Committee and the Cal/OSHA Safety Committee, to help reduce redundancy and to continue supporting the College’s Mission more effectively. We hope you like the new logo. Since it has been awhile since the last posting, let me help catch you up on just a few of the committee's ...accomplishments and items we are working on in order to keep CR safe on a daily basis. 1. Active Shooter and Emergency Procedures Trainings 2. New Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) 3. First Aid & Emergency equipment updated and resupplied for a large emergency. 4. Title IX & Crime Prevention training. 5. Safety training for Housing/Dorm new Residents 6. Firing Range emergency phone 7. Updated emergency notification on our phone system. The Life Safety Committee and the Department of Public Safety continue to help fulfill the College of the Redwoods Mission of putting the students first, by working hard at providing a safe working environment for our employees and a safe learning environment for our students. A special thanks to all those who worked hard and continue to support our vision and help our goals become a reality. Sincerely, Burk McBride Manager. General Public Services
