Marry someone you want to suffer with.

Covenant Keepers Marriage & Family Ministry 29.09.2020

The exclusivity of your marriage means there are parts of you and your relationship that nobody else knows. It's easy to take that for granted and to forget the... unique position you're in to love your husband or wife intentionally. Here are three tangible ways you can love your spouse like no one else can. 1: With your words. Few people (if anyone) can encourage your spouse like you can. You know their mind bestwhat bothers them, what they dream about, and what they struggle with. Use your words to breathe life into their heart and mind. Use your words to diffuse worry. Use your words to ignite their faith. 2: With your presence. Simply be aroundbe presentwhenever possible. Nothing builds closeness better than proximity... physical, emotional, spiritual proximity. Stay close to your husband or wife; your nearness will speak louder than words. 3: With your body. Sex is designed to be exclusive to your marriage as a means to express intimacyto reinforce your bond and commitment on every level. Embrace sex and your role as your spouse's sexual partner! It's a God-given tool to enjoy each other on levels unique only to marriage. In all things, remember that you have been placed in each others' lives by God to fulfill his purposes. Steward your marriage well. When you do, you bring glory to God and joy to each other. Stay fierce, Ryan & Selena P.S. TAG your spouse in the comments along with a few intentional words of encouragement. You might make his/her day!! #fiercemarriage #love #twoasone #40prayers #31daypursuit

It's easy to confuse love with feelings or attraction. They're not the same, and their differences are profound. Attraction and feelings on their own can fade o...ver time. Love won't. Attraction and feelings are desires that make us want to show love, but they're not what love is made of. Love is timeless, feelings come and go. Love is a decision, a verb, and a deliberate refusal of self for the sake of another. In that, it's unshakeable, whatever your state of feelings and/or attraction. Love in action enriches and amplifies feelings and attraction; in fact, covenantal love begets them both! That's why covenant is so awesome and important. Your covenant exists to give love time and room to flourish even when feelings and attraction are hard to find. It's there to bind you together through every season of lifefor your good and God's glory. May your marriage be built on true love, and may your love be marked by action and covenantal commitment that stands the test of time. Whatever season you're in, rest in your covenant. Trust God's way. Trust that you will make it through. Press into your community of believers, lean on them as you work through rough patches in your marriage. Faith is being sure of what you hope for, so hope for this: feelings of love and attraction are always followed by relentless love in action. There is no such thing as a perfect marriage. Anyone who tells you otherwise is pretending. The key is not in perfection but in the truth of Christ. The purpose... is not happiness, but sanctification. Seeking perfection will only make you ashamed when you fail and prideful when you succeed. Seeking Christ puts all weight, pressure, and glory on him. In return, you get a new identity, peace, and grace to fight for your marriage through every imperfect moment.
