Summer camp 2020 is underway, and we couldn't be more excited! We're thrilled to have students back on campus and experience their enthusiasm for learning, creativity, and fun! We do have some on-campus slots still available that we would love to fill. We are also still accepting students for distance learning camp. Courtyard Private School will be offering distance learning beginning June 22nd and ending August 21st. Camp will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and includes a morning meeting, Summer Bridge academic review, project-based learning and themed activities, virtual field trips, and other interactive events. Themes that our K-2nd grade students will engage in include abstract art, sculpting, surrealism/collage, and pop art. Some activities for our 3rd-8th grade students include brainstorming and creating inventions, writing and illustrating novels, making flipbook films, and starting personal blogs. Courtyard Private School is committed to providing engaging distance learning opportunities including daily Morning Line Up and classroom Zoom meetings, multi-age math and reading small group instruction, online after school clubs, music lessons, and so much more. Courtyard Private School is committed to the safety of our school community. We are currently supporting our families by providing ongoing distance learning. Teachers are facilitating their classes and teaching through Google Classroom and daily Zoom conferences including our specialist classes: drama, P.E., music, and Spanish. These online teaching platforms provide students with group and individual learning as well as hands-on experiences all while keeping current with curriculum standards. We appreciate all that our teachers and staff are doing to support our students and their families at this time. We are also truly grateful for all the support that we are receiving form our community as we strive to continue providing students with a well-rounded education.

Students gathered outside in the beautiful weather for our monthly STAR (Sit Together And Read) time. Younger and older students enjoyed being paired together to read and enjoy books. We love the sense of community that our students have with each other!

A couple of weeks ago, our students headed up to Soda Springs for Courtyard's annual ski trip. Students, parents, and staff took to the slopes on skis, snowboards, and tubes. Tons of fun was had playing in the snow, building snowmen, engaging in snowball fights, and so much more. A big thank you to all of our parent chaperones who accompanied the trip. Just a reminder that our 12th annual Crab Feed is coming up on Saturday, March 7th. There are still some 8 and 10-top tables available for purchase as well as individual tickets. Our girl's basketball team played an exhilarating game on Saturday, which ended with a 19-13 win! The girls exhibited great teamwork, attitudes, and play throughout the entire game. A huge thank you to the coaches who pour time and dedication into helping our girls become better individuals and teammates on and off the court.

Yesterday, NorCal Bats came to visit our TK-2nd grade students. Students enjoyed learning all about echolocation, different types of bats, and how bats utilize different parts of their bodies to capture their prey. Students also got to experience up close experiences with the bats thanks to magnifying glasses and technology.
