On December 19, we held our Annual Awards Ceremony. Since we could not have our Christmas Bias Box Gala, the ceremony took place at the Green as we socially distanced!! We thank outgoing President, Bill Lowman with his favorite wines and this year's MVP, Sarah Kaufman with special bubbly for Christmas Mimosas. We thanked Tony and Nancy Santos who were not present and their gift will find them soon.
The Coronado Lawn Bowling Club Team came in 7th of approxmately 250 teams in the Coronado 130 Virtual Challenge!! We clocked 9,129.69 Miles!!! Ken Hunt was 2nd on our team with his 1,363.30 miles and was Number 48 over all. Bob Grobe was 3rd on our team with 1,236.05 miles and was Number 55 overall. Mary Hunt was 4th on our team with 1,234.10 miles and was 56 over all. Berie Grobe was 5th on our team with 1,184.55 miles and was 65 over all. So who said that we are the "old goats" around here!!!!!
Our Virtual Turkey Trot Pairs was completed on Friday, December 11. The winning team in a very tight race was David Chrivia and Dick Arnold!! Second place was Tony Santos and Terri Bignell. Third place was Howard First and Ken Hunt.
Farewell Dear Lawn Bowling Friend. Allan LaMotte was one of the kindest, friendliest, most gracious, lawn bowlers on the Green. He always had a smile for everyone and never had a dark word for anyone. (1937-2020) The CLBC will miss your kindness!
Our very own Barry Thurman and Jerry Manley were featured in the Coronado E-Times!! https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/
A Spooktacular day on the Green today. Betsy Gill won the best costume and Barry Thurman won the best mask. Mark and Dess Keely sported a great pumpkin mask and fabulous witch hat!! So sorry that we failed to get a group photo!!
HOT, HOT, HOT day on the Green but we did our new socially distant bowling, MASKS and all!! We now have 4 rinks to spread out on!!
Twilight Open Bowling was canceled for the 2020 season. We know that an event was advertized because that was created back in January before the pandemic and we forgot to remove it....OOOPS!! But there has been no Twilight Bowling and it is all canceled for the remainder of the summer.
The CLBC thanks Sarah "Cheeselady" Kaufman for spending 28 hours keeping the Green clean and ready for play everyday in July!!!! WAY TO GO Sarah!!
