We didn't do a Valentine's Day post yesterday because we know that the day AFTER Valentine's Day is what really matters! Thanks to Officer Watson, Dispatcher Fountain is the proud new owner of every clearance bag of conversation hearts in Corning. He is, as the candies say, "Totes the Rockstar XOXO"
Help support our local Tehama County K9 teams! TCK9 supports K9 teams assigned to the Tehama County Sheriff's Office, Tehama County Probation Department, Red Bluff Police Department, and of course here at Corning Police Department! Drop by our department and grab a brochure to learn how you can help make sure that our K9 teams have the resources to continue being an essential part of Law Enforcement in Tehama County.
Yesterday morning came in like a wrecking ball here at CPD. The wrecking ball was actually a late 2000's model, white, lifted Chevy Silverado with large black mudflaps. The guy Teen-Wolfing in the truck bed wiped out before he had a chance to sidewalk surf in front of our department. We would love to get in contact with these guys to give them an autographed copy of a DMV Drivers Handbook, and maybe chat with them about the fight they had down the road with the folks in the Chrysler SUV before this happened. If you know them, tell them to give us a call! (530)824-7000.
The Corning Police Department and Tehama County Major Crimes are seeking the public's assistance in attempting to identify these Persons of Interest in a Homicide investigation. On the Night of August 9, 2020 Angelo Spears, a 24 year old Corning resident, was shot and killed at the Super 8 Motel on Solano St. The Persons of Interest were filmed immediately prior to the homicide inside of a black BMW 550i 4-door with custom rims. If you have any information as to the identities or the whereabouts of these Persons of Interest, please contact Agent White day or night, at (530)824-7000. Video 2 of 2

Nothing like some stormy weather! The power is out all over town, we have no estimated time of restoration. Our Officers are out patrolling! Please drive safely, turn your headlights on, slow down, pay attention and take your time at intersections where the stoplights are out!
Well...2021 has officially started. Our very first case for the New Year included a vehicle pursuit and a K9 apprehension. We hope everyone else in our community welcomed 2021 safely!
We hope our community has a safe and wonderful Christmas. We will be out patrolling throughout the holiday ensuring the safety of our city, as we always do. Please keep yourself and others safe and don't drink and drive. Appreciate small blessings, especially after a long and difficult year. From our family at Corning Police Department to your family, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
Good morning! Please take the time to read the following press release from Chief Fears in regards to the upcoming curfew order. Have a safe weekend, Corning!
We haven't mentioned the #9PM routine lately! You better go get your mail out of your mailbox, valuables out of your cars, and your porch lights turned on because before you know it, WHAM! It's suddenly #9PM.
While our city was asleep...
We send a big "Thank You" to Corning Ford for their generous donation of disposable masks! We appreciate their concern for the safety and well-being of our officers!
It's been cold lately! Since our 2019 "Corning Coats for Kids" coat drive was so successful last year (thanks to our generous community), we still have coats left to hand out this year! If you need a coat for your kiddo let us know! (530)824-7000.
UPDATE: REUNITED with owner! This little one was just found on Solano St. If it belongs to you call us at (530)824-7000!
In case you were wondering about the sirens through town: just a bit ago Chief Fears was patrolling through Solano St and noticed a man acting suspiciously. He stopped to see if the man needed medical attention or if he was under the influence of something. While Chief Fears was speaking to the man he noticed the handle of a gun in the rear waistband of the mans pants. He was detained and a search revealed the gun was loaded, he was in possession of over 10 grams of meth, paraphernalia, and over $4,000 cash. Mr. Jose Espinoza-Farias, age 46 of Red Bluff, was transported and booked into the Tehama County Jail on numerous charges. Good looking out, Chief!
