RHDV is coming. Here is what you know to keep your bunnies safe.
The deadly RHVD2 virus has made its way to Southern California. It is only a matter of time before it reaches the Bay Area. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the disease and find out how to prevent your bunnies from getting infected. There is lots of great info available at http://rabbit.org/rhdv
RHDV is a highly contagious disease of domestic and wild rabbits that has recently been detected in the Southwest of the United States. Please be aware of the precautions you can take and keep your bunnies safe as the virus spreads.
Gray and the CCRR Bunnies thank you for your help! We are touched and overwhelmed by the generosity of our donors in this difficult time. The bunny community really came through for us, and donated enough cash that we will be able to cover the donations lost due to our cancelled shows. The funds will cover ongoing veterinary care, as well as supplies for our foster and sanctuary bunnies. Thank you to everyone who donated and shared our posts. Stay safe, and we hope to be able to hold events again soon!
CCRR Bunnies Need Covid-19 help! https://www.ccrronline.org/donate CCRR is in need of financial help right now. Contra Costa County just announced that the current shelter in place restrictions will be in place until at least May 3rd. We are unable to host adoption events, which means we are not taking in any funds from grooming, nail trimming, and in person donations. Our foster and sanctuary bunnies continue to need pellets, hay, greens, and litter, as well as veterinary ca...re. We need your help! If you can spare some funds at this time to help us, please consider donating to us via PayPal. This unprecedented pandemic has hurt our fundraising considerably. Can you help? The bunnies say thank you! We can also use help by sharing this post. The more people who interact with our post, the more people will see it too.
Help CCRR's bunnies by supporting us in Oxbow Animal Health's Hay It Forward contest! It only takes a minute to fill out the form: Contra Costa Rabbit Rescue Antioch, CA 94531 Contact: [email protected]... https://www.oxbowanimalhealth.com/hay-it-forward
CCRR’s adoption events scheduled for March 28 and April 11 are cancelled. In addition, adoptions are suspended until further notice. We are doing this because of the Contra Costa County shelter in place order that was made today. We will continue to care for our bunnies and will continue our rescue work, but public events will be postponed. We’ll keep you up to date as we know more. In the meantime, if you have any veterinary office visits scheduled, please check with your vet office to be sure they are still seeing patients. Also, if you are having trouble getting hay or food for your bunnies, online sites like Chewy and Amazon are still making deliveries. We hope everyone stays healthy and we can resume public events soon. Stay safe everyone!
Lily and Autumn and many other bunnies will be looking for their forever homes this weekend. We will be having an adoption showcase event this Saturday February 22 at Pet Food Express Walnut Creek located at 1388 S. California Blvd. Find out if a rabbit is right for you by talking to our experienced bunny volunteers and learning about rabbit care and requirements. We will be doing FREE drop in nail trimming and grooming sessions. The event runs from noon to 3PM. Hope to see you there!

February is Spay/Neuter Awareness Month! Did you know that unfixed female rabbits have an 80% chance of developing uterine cancer? Or that one pair of unfixed r...abbits can produce over 3.5 million more rabbits, significantly contributing to the overpopulation problem? For these reasons and many others, it's important to spay or neuter your rabbit(s). Learn more: rabbit.org/faq-spaying-and-neutering
