Today it would have been the 111th birthday of Sir Nicholas Winton. A man who has shown extraordinary courage and ability to act effectively at the right mom...ent, despite considerable risks. During the Nazi occupation, on the brink of the Second World War, Sir Winton saved 669 mostly Jewish children from Czechoslovakia. He organised special trains that took them to England, where they were taken over by foster families.
