The Community Pool at CLU and Samuelson Aquatics Center will remain closed on January 20, 2021. All Lap Swim Reservations have been moved to Wednesday, January 27, 2021, same lanes and times. All programs from 9:00am-12:00pm have been canceled. Make-ups will be scheduled at a later time. ... Families in our evening programs will be contacted tomorrow for an updated status. Stay Safe!

We are proud to finally offer "Family Areas" for recreational swimming. There is a maximum of 5 people from the same household in each area. Reservation times are limited to 1 hour per family at a flat rate of $20. Family Areas will be available starting Friday, July 24. Dear Swimmers, We received guidelines from Ventura County Public Health on June 11, 2020. Putting procedures and a reservation system in place to ensure the safety of our staff and the public was our number one concern. Dear Swimmers; We wanted to reach out to you all and let you know where we are with the Community Pool @ CLU plans for re-opening. At this moment, the Ventura County Environmental Health Division has posted the approval of Residential-style swimming pools. They HAVE NOT released permission to open Aquatic Center-style pools. We are monitoring these decisions closely. We do plan to open quickly and train our staff, should the VC Health Office inform us that we have the gre...en light to do so. Please keep in mind that there will be strict guidelines that will need to be followed when we do re-open. Those guidelines will be communicated in an email to all our swim family prior to opening. What can I do to replace my lap swim workout? Rule of Thumb A good rule of thumb is to run, bike, elliptical or row for 10-minutes for every 500m of swimming to be done. So, a swim workout that requires 1500-2000m of swimming would be replaced by 30-40 minutes of other activity.... For sprint days, a 100m sprint in the pool is equal to 400m sprint on land if running or 60-90 seconds on a bike, elliptical, or rower.

The pool is being refilled, heated and cleaned for scheduled make-up lessons this Saturday and Sunday due to the fires. The pool will remain closed through the weekend for public swim.

The NP Pool powered up Saturday around 1pm, and everything seems to be fine. We will re-open Monday morning 9am for lessons and rec swim. Kudos to CVUSD, working on the weekend!!

NEWBURY PARK POOL UPDATE! They are still in the process of finding the source of the leak. Construction crews will be working through the weekend to try and locate the leak and get it fixed. The NPP will be closed this Saturday for lap swimming. CLU will have 2-3 lap lanes in the afternoon to accommodate some lap swimmers.... We will continue to update you through out the weekend on the status of NPP. We are still planning on having lessons at NPP on Monday. #poolclosure #newburyparkpool
