We will also have the ...From The Ground Up mill onsite to make some lumber, so if you have framing tools bring those too. Potluck Saturday night, bring your own drinking water. There will be water onsite for washing, but we will still be using generator to pressurize our tank and we haven't tested the well water so, the we are confident it's safe we want to be sure. This last year has been both stressful and amazing, watching our community grab itself by the britches and get things done together, seeing the disaster of post fire transform into the clean slate of recovery, and getting to know our community even better than before. In that spirit we will gather, eat, drink, work, dance, sing and give thanks together. Please tell your friends, take a minute to invite anyone you know would like to be there. A Concow-based community group, From The Ground Up Farms, Inc., showed us how they are putting an NVCF Camp Fire Relief Fund grant to work. They received $25,00...0 for a portable sawmill, which can be set up on properties with stacks of burned trees. Those trees can then be turned into finished lumber for use in the rebuilding process. Pictured in the gallery is one outbuilding, which includes a laundry room and bathroom, built from the burned timber. You can also see a stack of lumber from the burned trees that will be used to rebuild a home. Their ingenuity and self-reliance are impressive, an incredible example of putting burned trees to use in the rebuilding process -- and saving money for those who want to rebuild.
