Competitive Robotics at CSUS 01.11.2020

Hello Everyone! We will be hosting a 1-lb combat robot competition this fall- The Hornet Combat Robot Tournament! This event, held in the Pacific Suite of the University Union at Sacramento State on November 16th, will run from 11:00am to 5:00pm, with builders being asked to arrive sometime between 10:00am and 10:50am (or to tell us ahead of time if they will be late for some reason), and will involve a double-elimination tournament and a "rumble" involving many of the survi...ving eliminated bots preceding the championship match. We will also be streaming the event live on our twitch account, and builder registration for those outside of the university will open up sometime in late-mid October on Robot Combat Events. We hope to see you there! -Twitch Stream: https://www.twitch.tv/comprobocsusacramento -Competition Rules: https://athena.ecs.csus.edu/~comprobo/competitionrules.html -More information (including what is allowed in the pits): https://athena.ecs.csus.edu//Event-sacramento_state-1lb-to

Good afternoon everyone, We received a message from the Engineering and Computer Science Joint Council President that the ECS Expo on April 11th has been cancelled in accordance with President Nelsen's initiative. As a result the Smackdown in Sactown 1-lb Combat Robot Tournament will not happen this year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we hope the event will be brought back for next year!

Quick update after talking with event services! We will NOT have any soldering or drilling in the pits (unless you are totally fine doing it three floors down, outside in our club room before the event starts for purposes of making weight). We will also have around 16 square feet of table space dedicated just for battery chargers, and there will likely be much, much more than enough tablespace for builders to work with (as in, do not be surprised if you get a whole 6x3 foot t...able for yourself). The dingier tables on the side away from the arena are for cutting/hammering stuff or using hot glue. Next year, we will try to book a room earlier so we aren't stuck with one that has carpet... [I'll try to figure out whether or not you'll need to purchase a parking ticket on Tuesday.] -EO

Good day, everyone! We hope you all are having a great summer! For this year, there will be several events/activities that we have planned at Sacramento State, including an open 1-lb combat robot competition happening on campus this fall! Some of the competition rules and details are being finalized, but the date, [target] start time, and the location are all set. We would also like to thank the Sacramento State College of Engineering and Computer Science and the Hornet Lea...dership Program team for their support! Feel free to check out our site for more details! https://athena.ecs.csus.edu/~comprobo/index.html

Also, apologies for those who were hoping to watch the twitch stream, we weren't able to set it up this year. Hopefully at any future events we do we will be able to set up the stream.

For those who will be attending the ECSJC Expo on April 6th, you can print out a FREE parking permit for the day to avoid having to purchase a $7 daily pass. However, it is only valid in parking structure two, which is located on the south side of the Hornet Bookstore. All other parking structures and lots will still require a parking permit!
