Classes are winding down for the year. Just a few more then all the instructors and students get a few weeks off to spend with their families. To everyone who supported the Training Center in 2020 from our webmaster to the cleaning and sanitizing crew to the rat wranglers and students to our dedicated instructors, a huge thank you. We’re growing because of you. Classes are up for the first quarter and registering. If the class you want is full it will show a wait list. Jump... on that and we will know if we need to add another session to accommodate demand. Lots of new stuff coming. Check it out. For me, I’m going to sleep in next Saturday. Such a luxury! Have a safe and happy holiday everyone.
I truly feel you can never stop learning. Your dog learns every day, good and bad. It's your job to make sure it's the good stuff. Today I finished an amazing course on canine cognition and teaching behaviors. I want to be a better trainer for my dogs, myself and my students. If you want to take your training to the next level, check this course out. It's a blast and so beneficial.

Hello Everyone: I just wanted to clarify the schedule for The Training Center. Classes are pretty much done for the year. Continuously running classes, like agility are scheduled to meet until 12/20 before taking a break (planned) until early January. The Governor's order doesn't change that significantly for us. We are technically a retail school and as such can operate as long as we meet our 20% of occupancy ratio. We rarely get close to 15% occupancy on a busy day. BI...G building. We will be cleaning and sanitizing as we have been all year. We will keep to our schedule until 12/20 if students want to participate. Members will continue to have full access. However, we want people to feel safe and be well. If you prepaid for a class and elect not to attend due to COVID concerns, let us know. We'll give you the value of those missed classes in Canine Cash that you can apply to classes in 2021 or to private sessions with your instructor. We encourage everyone to mask up and stay safe during the holiday season. Photo of Waldo, our amazing Santa, and his dogs, is just to get your attention.
Do you have a dog that's ready to get an AKC Trick Dog title? We will be offering Trick Dog evaluations this Saturday, November 14th from 8am to 4 pm. Each level's evaluation is $20. Walk ins are welcome, but if you know you're coming, please sign up at this link! https://compk9.net/event/tricks-111420/

Okay everyone...here's your chance. We're scheduling classes and seminars (mini & weekend) for 2021. We're adding Nose Work and Treibball classes. What other classes should we add? What topics do you want? Who would you like to see do those seminars?
POLES WEAVE WIGGLE SHIMMY GET 'EM SSS... It doesn't matter what the command is...we all want reliable independent weaves. Come join us for a weaves only 4 week seminar starting tonight at 7:15.
FOCUS & CONTROL We have one space left in the class starting tonight at 6:00 p.m. If your dog needs to learn to work in the presence of distractions, needs better dog to dog or dog to human skills or can't sit still to learn because of too much drive, this is your class. Sign up now. This spot won't last long and the next session of this class is in January.
Linda Blake of KarmaRocks Photography at Competition Canine - The Training Center this Saturday with a Halloween themed set up. Photos are free but donations to Performance ResQ are appreciated. If you weren't able to get pics last week when Linda was there, come this weekend. In addition, Linda will have studio lights setup between classes to get some portraits of your dogs doing jumps or tunnels or tires or other agility equipment. Let's have some fun at Competition Canine - The Training Center this weekend with our pups! Here are a few more from last weekend!
Congratulations to Ann McQuillen & Wicked (PRT) on earning their Virtual Home Manners title (subject to AKC approval).
Congratulations to Dorris Wigglesworth and her two dogs, Rylee and Emmee on earning their Virtual Home Manners Titles (subject to AKC approval)
Check out Frank, Ann King’s boy! He’s in our tricks class and as Ann says, I’m doing what I tell clients to do...get our reactive dogs out and have some fun while they learn to relax around other dogs and people. Tricks is a great way to do that! Our low pressure class allows dogs to work at their own speed. Plus, you can start at any time. Check out our classes at www.compk9.net. Want to guess how he got his name? It's because of his bright blue eyes! They asked Linda Blake, our photogrpher , if she knew why he was named Frank, and funnily enough, she did because her kitty, Frank, is also named after Frank Sinatra because of his beautiful blue eyes. He's a beauty though, isn't he?
I'm excited to announce that we will be offering evaluation of the new Virtual Home Manners titles (adult & puppy). Check out the information page below and contact us to schedule an evaluation. https://www.akc.org//akc-family-dog-/virtual-home-manners/
Spending the weekend at the Aggression in Dogs seminar. SO much amazing information. I've learned some things that will help in my private work with problem dogs as well as things to add to Focus and Control to improve the lives of our canine friends. LOVED this presentation today. Denise Fenzi is always amazing but her discussion on puppies, how to identify the purpose bred puppy for you and training issues and how to respond to them was off the wall. If you get a chance to hear her speak on this topic, don't miss it.
"Dogboni"...love this machine! We got it a year ago and had no idea how important it would become to Training Center. In the time of COVID it's been a godsend to sanitize the center frequently and make it safe to play with our dogs.
Today at Competition Canine - The Training Center the agility foundation dogs had a fun time with tunnels. Here are some fun pics by Linda Blake of Karmarocks Photography of a few of the dogs going through the tunnels. Some for the first time, others were just having fun.
Two bundles of cute visiting today to work on socialization around other dogs and new people. These Podengo puppies are beyond cute. Thanks Bruce and Jeri Hewett for bringing the "kids" by to visit. Need to socialize a puppy? We have puppy classes coming up in early 2021. Check out of website at www.CompK9.net for more information.
