Many people are either familiar with or have at least heard of EMDR. While Brainspotting has been around for 17 years, many haven’t heard much about it. Well, I’m here to tell you that Brainspotting is an incredible gift that we can use to help you overcome the challenges you’re experiencing. This approach was discovered by an outstanding EMDR therapist + trainer (David Grand) and data has shown that the positive, healing results are comparable (sometimes longer lasting) th...an EMDR. Both of these treatments are incredible and we are proud to have Brainspotting therapists available! Want to know more? Check out our therapist’s bios on our website for links to informative videos. She is an expert in creating a safe and holding space for her clients. Here is a message from Claire,In my years as a therapist, I’ve learned that we all have one thing in common: We as humans are RESILIENT. Regardless of the paths that have led us to lose joy in life, I’ve witnessed the hopeless become hopeful & the wounded become healed. I feel honored & inspired by their resilience. I went into the mental health field to help change others’ lives, but what I’ve found that keeps me going is that it is my clients that have truly changed mine. #mentalhealth #therapy #orangecounty #fullerton #ocshrinks #mentalhealthmatters

Dear Brave One, You are not too emotional. You are not too sensitive. Your heart is constantly at war with all of your emotions; each one fighting to be dominant. You feel the energies of others. You feel when they’re happy, sad, angry, fake and truthful. You know when they’re using you and when they’re being genuine. ... You are not weak. You are gifted with the ability of heightened intuition. Your anxiety is nothing to be ashamed of; it’s a reminder that you have the gift of empathy. Not many posses this rare trait because it takes a special kind of individual to be as genuinely compassionate as you are. Your kindness is your strength, not your weakness. You have a beautiful, brave soul. #therapy #mentalhealthmatters #showmeyourbrave #orangecounty #fullerton #ocshrinks

Boldness...this word and it’s meaning remind me of when @brenebrown challenges us to dare greatly. Being bold does not equal being fearless, it means being steadfast, speaking your truth, daring to believe and daring to dream with strength + passion...all the while balancing risk, uncertainty and worry. Be bold in your pursuit of healing, be bold in your pursuit of purpose, be bold in your belief in yourself, be bold in vulnerability, be bold in humility and be bold being Y...OU. #mentalhealth #therapy #bebold #daregreatly #fullerton #orangecounty #ocshrinks

Most of us fall somewhere along the spectrum of internalizing and externalizing our struggles, our thoughts and our feelings. When we lean more towards internalizing, it can be accompanied by silencing our voices. Silencing to appease others - silencing to avoid conflict - even silencing because we doubt the worth of our words. Struggling in silence and feeling unheard can be so lonely. It can also leave you stuck.... This is a gentle reminder that you have value and your words have worth, even if your voice shakes. #mentalhealth #therapy #selfworth #speakout #fullerton #orangecounty #ocshrinks

Shame is so powerful, yet, so is courage! We are built to have connection and relationships in our lives. Leading with shame keeps you hidden, feeds the feelings of inadequacy and keeps connection away because we are consumed with thoughts like, If they REALLY knew me, if they REALLY saw me + my flaws, they would never like me. Courage can be terrifying. Stepping into the unknown with your vulnerabilities exposed may go against every instinct in your body! But leading with courage fuels authenticity, strength, self-acceptance and connection. Your vulnerabilities, blind spots, weaknesses ... whatever you call them, they make you perfectly human and being human is also perfectly relatable because we are right there with you! #therapy #mentalhealth #fullerton #orangecounty #ocshrinks

Staying present in the here + now isn’t always easy, yet it can be so empowering. It’s helpful to be aware of when we bounce back and are hanging out in the past. My question to you would be, is it helpful? Is it helpful to linger in and relive the past? If it is, great! If it’s not, gently remind yourself you can return to the here + now at any time. #therapy #mentalhealth #fullerton #orangecounty #ocshrinks
