MISSING KIDS LOCATED SAFE, SUSPECT ARRESTED On February 27, 2021, at approximately 0025 hours, the CHP - Yreka Communications Center (YCC) was notified by the ...Clark County Sheriff's Department to be on the lookout for a 2018 Gray Jeep Renegade. An Amber Alert was activated out of Clark County, Washington, for the Jeep, which was being driven by Suspect Ronald M. Hidalgo. The suspect took his twin two-year old nephews from their home in Vancouver, Washington on February 26, 2021, at approximately 1630 hours. The Hornbrook Agricultural Station notified YCC that the Jeep drove through the facility and was last seen traveling southbound on I-5. The Jeep was located and stopped by a CHP Yreka unit on I-5 northbound and North Yreka, in the CHP Yreka Area. The suspect was taken into custody without incident at approximately 0130 hours and both children were found safe in the vehicle. The suspect was booked in Siskiyou County Jail and the children were taken to the CHP Yreka Area Office. The children were picked up by their parents, who drove down from their home in Vancouver, Washington.

***WANTED: SEEKING ASSISTANCE LOCATING SUSPECT*** Jesse Charles Askew (pictured) DOB: 2/20/1985 Height 5’08 Weight 140 ... Last known residential address out of Humboldt County but has property in Siskiyou County On 2/25/2021, at approximately 7:15PM, the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to a shots fired call for service in the Big Springs area of Siskiyou County. Upon arrival, the victims identified a male who came to their residence and fired multiple rounds as Jesse Charles Askew, age 36, of Humboldt County. While deputies were on scene, they heard additional rounds being fired nearby. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to assist deputies with the search for the suspect. An SCSO Deputy and a CHP Officer contacted Askew in the nearby area. Askew relinquished a 9mm handgun to officers, but he resisted arrest, and attempted to take a CHP Officer’s duty rifle away from the officer. Askew fled the area, and an extensive search of the area followed. CHP Air Operations helicopter H-14 also responded to the area. Askew is still at large. The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office is looking for assistance in locating Askew for negligent discharge of a firearm and assault on a peace officer. If located, please use extreme caution as we do not know his mental state or if he has additional firearms. HOME INVASION ROBBERY LEADS TO TWO ARRESTS On 12/27/2020 at around 5 a.m., Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Deputies responded to the Hornbrook area for ...a report of an active home invasion robbery. Suspects kicked the victim’s door open, bear maced the victim, and began kicking him while he was on the ground. The bear mace affected the suspects, which caused them to retreat outside briefly, allowing the victim to escape through a window and get to safety. The suspects re-entered the residence and started taking items. The suspects fled the scene in a white, late 90’s Ford pickup truck with a wood rack. The victim believed the suspects had firearms with them during the robbery. The victim was home alone when the robbery occurred. The responding deputies located the suspect vehicle on Ager Road near York Road. With the assistance of the California Highway Patrol, SCSO Deputies were able to safely take the suspects into custody. The suspects were identified as Steven Charles Ferea, 47 of Castro Valley, and Corey Matthew Boatman, 31 of Stockton. The deputies recovered a brand-new cell phone, a chainsaw, a generator, and several other items identified as stolen from the victim. No firearms were found inside the vehicle. Boatman and Ferea were transported to the Siskiyou County Jail where they were booked for several felony and misdemeanor charges. The victim was transported to the hospital for exposure to bear mace and a possible broken arm. The victim is expected to make a full recovery. This is an ongoing investigation.
