Here’s to the people who stand shoulder to shoulder to make things better. Their drive, dedication and resourcefulness were the inspiration behind our recent TV campaign featuring original works of art by artist David Garibaldi. Over the last few weeks, these paintings have traveled to each of our hospitals for our team members to enjoy and reflect on the essential work they do. We appreciate all their hard work to paint a healthier future for our community!

When Cathryn Lencioni's family was displaced by the Creek Fire in early September, her co-worker Ashley sprung into action. "I work with Ashley in the ICU on opposite shifts. She was one of the first people to call, text and check-in on me and my family. She single-handedly formed a collection of necessities via social media platforms for me and all of my mountain community. I spoke of a few special homeowners that I knew who lost everything and thought that they may need ...some things just to get them started," Cathryn said. "She immediately obtained clothes, healthcare items, toiletries, toys for kids, diapers and so on before the first week of the evacuation hit. I am still overwhelmed by her kindness and giving. When I went to her home to pick up a few items for some displaced families, she had her entire entryway and family room stacked with items. Ashley is a true healthcare hero, she solely considered the well being of her community and the community of others without a second thought. She does not know these people, and will probably never meet these people, yet she has given her time and complete love to all of them. I am extremely lucky to have her as coworker, friend and community activist." Thank you, Ashley, for exemplifying what it means to be a #healthcarehero inside and outside our hospital walls!

She calls, asks, pleads, and carefully coordinates these wonderful staff satisfying events, Garth Wade, Director of Emergency Services at Community Regional said. Anything that is needed, she delivers, Wayne Hart, RN, Clinical Supervisor said about our Emergency Department's Project Coordinator Norma Estrada when he nominated her as a healthcare hero. She’s assisted in setup, tear down of alternate care sites. When an Emergency Department team member has a family crisis or needs help, Norma often leads charitable events to assist our co-workers and our Community Regional family she is always thinking of ways to boost staff morale and is ready to assist Administration at a moment’s notice. Our Level 1 Trauma Center designation and this vital level of care for the Central Valley will continue. Two neurosurgeons were approved yesterday to begin providing neurosurgical trauma on-call coverage. These surgeons will complete an onboarding process today and will begin seeing patients on Friday, September 11. We remain committed to providing essential care to Valley residents now more than ever and especially during these challenging times.
