CIP is now offering ADHD Testing for Adults - Marin County, CA It is a pleasure to announce that Community Institute for Psychotherapy (CIP) is now open for psychological testing for adults who are interested in being tested for ADHD. Due to the pandemic, we have not been able to offer psychological testing for nearly a year. Our testing interns are now able to do ADHD testing remotely on Zoom. It is important to note that this testing is a limited battery of tests, as oppose...d to a full battery. The results will provide a diagnostic picture of the likelihood that an individual has or does not have ADHD. It will not provide specific information about intellectual, emotional, or behavioral functioning unrelated to ADHD. Recommendations for remediation and treatment, and possible future testing will be provided. To inquire further about ADHD testing for adults at CIP, please call the 415-459-5999 x 451 and leave a voicemail. The Testing Coordinator will return your call. See more

Even when some of us are feeling a greater disconnect from our communities than ever before, we can still gather and support one another.

At CIP, in addition to individual, couples, and family therapy, we also offer two unique group therapy options: a Women's Group, and an Anxiety and Depression group. Both will be starting soon, and still have openings for new clients! Group therapy can be wonderful in conjunction with individual therapy, or on its own, and provides a supportive community to work through challenging issues. If you've considered group therapy, or know someone who may benefit, you can find more information on our website at www.cipmarin.org, or send a message! #mentalhealth #grouptherapy

Over 70 percent of the clients I work with come to therapy to address a self-diagnosed problem: anxiety, depression, antisocial personality disorderyou name it. Self-diagnosing is not a problem. Rather, it is the paralyzing personal narratives we build around these self-diagnosed illnesses that can break us down emotionally and psychologically. A large part of dealing with a mental health issue is determining if you have one. Whether real or imagined, the stories we tell ourselves about our problems determine whether they become elevator music that fades into the background of our lives or the sound of nails on a chalkboard that push us over the edge https://www.psychologytoday.com//quirks-issues-or-serious-
