Bringing groups of diverse human beings together to solve big social or organizational problems is hard. In fact, most multi-stakeholder collaborations ultimately fail -- brought down by interpersonal divides that can't be bridged, design that doesn't take into account the multiple levels of abstraction in system change, not building the right platform to support an ongoing initiative, and more. If you have seen this happen and want to learn some new ways to think about designing multi-stakeholder initiatives, we will be teaching our acclaimed workshop Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration: Strategies, Design Principles, and Best Practice in San Francisco this August 6-10.
