End of Life Options: Understanding the California End of Life Options Act When: Sunday, March 12, 4:00-5:30 p.m. A Forum in the "Who is Your Neighbor?" series, presented by Community Church of Mill Valley... Come and be part of a lively discussion of issues important to our community, nation, and world. On March 12, Community Church of Mill Valley will host its fourth "Who Is Your Neighbor?" forum. Dr. Lonny Shavelson returns to our Forum series with a presentation and discussion of the California End of Life Option Act. Dr. Shavelson heads the Bay Area End of Life Options team of consultants and patient advocates. He worked for 29 years as an emergency department physician, then 7 as a primary care physician in a clinic for immigrants and refugees. He is now a consultant, educator and advocate for patients at the end of their lives who are considering various options, including physician aid-in-dying. He also consults with physicians who have patients requesting aid-in-dying as one possible route to their death. Dr. Shavelson also leads trainings about California’s End of Life Option Act. Admission is free. Donations are welcome. Refreshments served.
