Here are a few tips for this weekend to keep you AC at tip top shape. If you need any assistance don't hesitate to call. 805-830-5858. #1. Check the batteries in your thermostat AA batteries are the most common. To check, you can usually pull the front of the thermostat off to expose the batteries. If you haven't changed them in 2 years or see corrosion, then it might be time. ... #2. Change your air filter There will be at least one filter around your house which collects debris before it goes through your system. These filters help the system, and yourself breath clean air. If these are not perfectly white, its time to change. #3. Clean outdoor coil The condenser fan outside of your home has fins on the outside that help the unit breath and get clogged with dirt, hair, pollen and other obstructions. Its best to rinse the outside of this component with a regular garden hose. Just spray the outside of the condenser to remove the debris, be careful not to harm the fins with too much pressure. #4. Clear shrubs from your AC We have seen some condenser fans with a lot of shrubs and bushes obstructing the breathing capabilities in the past. This can wear on your system and should have at least a 18 inch clearance. #5. Don't let your home get too hot If your home gets to an excessive temperature it makes it very difficult for your system to cool down to the desired temp. Try to turn your AC on before you need it. If you wait until 3pm it might struggle to cool your home down to 75. We hope you have a wonderful, safe and COOL weekend.

With the weather getting warmer everyday you're probably going to turn that ceiling fan on more often. While they can definitely help keep your home cool, remember to turn them off when you leave the room. On average, you could be looking at spending 11 cents a day - that can add up year after year!

Almost everyone has a programmable thermostat. Did you know that you can program it to start cooling your home at certain hours of the day? This helps save you energy and reduce your electric bill by only using the system when it's needed.

Summer is fast approaching! Have you changed the filter on your system yet this year? As the temperature warms up and more of a burden is put on your system, a dirty filter can block the air flow and cause your system to work that much harder.
