ConnectEd is a virtual experience that provid...es a platform to connect our community to a conversation about important topics in education. Our discussion will focus on the student perspective of back to school with virtual learning. The session will be moderated by a student participant of College Track Sacramento. Our moderator will be joined by students attending schools supported by Teach For America-California Capital Valley. These young leaders will discuss their experiences with virtual learning, the challenges of online instruction and the support they desire to help them succeed in this current school year. Today is national #CollegeSigningDay, a day when high school seniors across the country announce which college they will attend in the fall. In light of stay-at-home restrictions, we are unable to celebrate with our students and families in person, but this does not diminish the pride and joy we feel for their achievements! All over the country, college freshmen are wrapping up their final exams, packing suitcases, and coming home for Thanksgiving. Making it to fall break is just one of many milestones in our students' 10-year journey to earn a college degree. For our College Track Sacramento students, the journey began when they came together with their classmates to improve their ACT scores. It continued when they received their college acceptance letters. And best of all, there was that momen...t when they arrived on campus and made their parent's dreams come true.
