Vaccine and Valentines. Residents and staff were excited to get their first COVID-19 vaccine. From a festive balloon arch, to lively conversation in the 'Recovery Room', and piano music being played by our Dan the Piano Man, our staff made the day awesome. To top it off, our Chef put together a wonderful Valentines Brunch and Tracy bought Cogir staff and CVS staff heart shaped pepperoni pizzas. A big thank you to our residents!! Our first annual 'COGIR GIVING TREE' has been a huge success!! Our residents have been very generous, having fun shopping for seniors in need. These gifts (blankets, shirts, socks, mugs, robes, slippers, books, flashlights, puzzles, etc.) will be going to seniors that are home bound, that do not have family, and in need for some holiday cheer!! The residents have been the best Santa Claus this year . Elpina Goodman has been with the community since the day the doors opened and has been the hardest working employee, with the biggest smile and always willing to be there and help all the residents. We have tears in our eyes right now, Elpina is retiring today, this is her last official day of work!! THANK YOU to BRISTOL HOSPICE of SACRAMENTO!! We had a very successful partnering for a Warm and Fuzzy Blanket drive. For the last few weeks Bristol has been gathering blankets for seniors in need. We are one of the lucky communities that was a drop off spot for them AND today we held a Drive Thru Breakfast Burrito and Hot Cocoa event - we collected approximately another 100+ blankets for their Fundraiser.
