Smith, Sr. and Lady April that we not only love them, but we support and appreciate them for 10 years of service as Senior Pastor and First Lady. Pastor Chane has served the SMT Church for over 30 years. Prior to becoming Senior Pastor, he served as the church organist, YPWW President, Youth Pastor, Men'...s Department President, Assistant Pastor and Co-Pastor. As Senior Pastor, his dedication has not wavered as he remains unquestionably dedicated to leading God's people. Lady April has served in the ministry at SMT for nearly 28 years. She along with , Charyce Kingsberry were the originators of Children's Church nearly 25 years ago. Lady April served as an assistant to Lady Evelyn Smith and the Department of Women of the SMT Church. She served as a choir member for 20 years, and our Chief Financial Officer for more than 12 years. She currently leads the Department of Women of the SMT Church and has held the position since the Installation of her husband as Pastor. In addition, she also regenerated the SMT Sunshine Band after the ministry was discontinued due to the retirement of the former SMT Sunshine Band president, Mother Mae O. Myart serving for more than 2 generations. Lady April realized the importance of Children's Ministry and could not allow it to sit any longer. She picked up the torch, groomed a successor, and successfully retired after over 5 years as Sunshine Band President. Together, Pastor Chane and Lady April have been role models both within the local church and on the State Church platforms. In addition to everything else, they served the State Youth Department for 13 years. In November, we will celebrate their ministry this far as Senior Pastor and First Lady. The Department of Women of the West Angeles District are at it again! In yesteryear, they would say no prayer, no power. Much prayer, much power. Well meet District Missionary Victoria Green along with all of the great women of the West Angeles District for their Annual Miracle Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, November 23rd beginning at 9 a.m. The speaker for this ocassion will be Co-Pastor Althea Sims of the Dwelling Place COGIC & Vice President of the International Sunday School Department for the Churches of God in Christ worldwide.
