We are winding up the Summer Semester! Tomorrow, Friday July 21 is the last day. All books are due. We will open August 21 for Fall Semester. Go out and explore our wonderful city before school starts!
We have a Pop-up show of Pop-ups! Take a look at this show on the 2nd floor lobby at Chinatown/NB Center this summer. Artists’ Books by Howard Munson exploring, experimenting, and having fun (Howard Munson) ... Artist and North Beach resident Howard Munson makes artist’s books and videos. He began making artist’s books when he was a student at the San Francisco Art Institute. He found it the perfect medium to explore his many ideas; inspired from travel, performance art, calligraphy and art history. He collects many of the materials he uses for his books during walks in North Beach and Chinatown, and his travels in Japan, Mexico and Europe. Howard Munson’s artist’s books are in many collections around the world. His work displays a reverence for the past his own history and the history of art, his work delights in experimental forms while honoring traditional formats. The playfulness of his wit and vision never obscures his deep respect for the serious nature of play. -Vamp and Tramp Booksellers (North Beach) , - -VampTramp Booksellers
