#Refreshing #inviting #friendly. I love graphic journalist Wendy MacNaughton’s approach, her illustrative take on #typography. It’s perfect for a piece on #Pantone 2019 #ColorOfTheYear. Doesn’t it make you want to read it?
Logo Love Capturing an organization’s identity in a logo is always exciting work, and is more interestingand even joyfulwhen its mission is personally meaningful to you. CMg Design was lucky enough to have that experience recently, when we created a logo for the non-profit Words2Action (W2A), the parent company for TEDxPasadena. W2A’s mission is to engage a community of learners, leaders and educators, through spoken word and tangible action, to change the world one idea a...t a time. In creating the logo, it was important to capture the vitality and forward movement of W2A, and its commitment to improving the lives of those in its community; W2A helps teenage girls who would otherwise not have access to the kind of opportunities W2A provides, from scholarships for attending its events, to mentoring and educational programs. Typography art was a great way to convey W2A’s essence: more than two dozen words describing its mission, community, and values comprise the logo design itself. The arrow in the logo represents both W2A’s commitment to go from words to action, and its creation of a better future. A lively, energetic palette, balanced with use of black type, and a modern sans serif font, Lulo Clean One, reinforce the brand message. Here is a sampling of words that comprise the logo image: ability, advocates, building, bridge, community, compassion, cross-pollination, educate, empathy, empowered, focus, global, innovate, kids, network, Pasadena, speak, and tangible.
