Dear Clinicare Patients, We are committed to giving you the most up to date information about how to get vaccinated in LA County. We know there have been many different and confusing messages in the media, and we understand how frustrating it can be to wait to be vaccinated, especially without any clear information about when your turn will come. So while @capublichealth and @lapublichealth are constantly updating their vaccination plans, here is what we know now. The dis...tribution of the vaccination is managed by LA County @lapublichealth According to state and county resources, the vaccine supply is very limited. Due to limited supply, @lapublichealth has only authorized COVID19 vaccinations for healthcare workers, seniors age 65 years and older, and nursing facility residents. If you are authorized to receive the vaccine, appointments for vaccination are available at VaccinateLACounty.com Most of the state’s vaccine supply being diverted to vaccination megasites (MegaPODs Point of Dispensing sites). The Public Health Mega-PODs are large scale vaccination sites. They are drive-through only and are being held daily (please note that some public health locations may change their scheduled due to weather conditions). These sites offer the Pfizer vaccine. The regular Public Health PODs held at the Balboa and El Sereno sites are not drive-through. You can drive and park, arrive on foot, or come by public transportation. These sites offer the Moderna vaccine. All vaccinations are by appointment only. According to LA County DPH site @lapublichealth nearly all appointments are booked, so please continue checking the website appointment system frequently. LA City Fire Department POD the Dodger’s stadium vaccination site is drive through only. The other sites run by LA City FD are walk-up so you can drive and park, or arrive on foot, by public transportation. All of these sites offer the Moderna vaccine. All vaccinations are by appointment only. There is a central appointment system you need to access to register for all the sites run by LA City FD. More information in comments

Update on COVID-19 vaccination allocation and administration. @capublichealth is working with our local health department @lapublichealth to distribute COVID-19 vaccines. Local health departments are identifying facilities that have the capacity to properly maintain COVID-19 vaccine and meet additional federal and state requirements. Our order has been submitted and we are waiting to receive our vaccine supply.... Please note that although @capublichealth announced that California will prioritize vaccinating health care personnel, including vaccinators, and all persons 65 years of age or older, per @lapublichealth Los Angeles County will not begin vaccinating people age 65 and older until vaccinations for healthcare workers are complete and more vaccine is received from the State to vaccinate this new priority group. Both COVID-19 vaccinations are being allocated per CDC recommendation and are being administered in phases. Vaccines will become available in phases as supplies increase. YOU CAN CALL CLINICARE PHARMACY TO BE PLACED ON OUR WAITLIST ALL PATIENTS ON THE WAITLIST WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THEIR PLACE ON THE WAITLIST AS SOON AS VACCINE SUPPLY ARRIVES AND LA COUNTY AUTHORIZES VACCINATIONS FOR PEOPLE AGE 65 AND OLDER. More information on vaccine allocation and administration in phases can be found at http://publichealth.lacounty.gov//ncor/vaccine/allocation/

This post is a little overdue as I was planning to share the great news with our patients and community on January 12th when we got approved as a provider for CA COVID19 Vaccination Program. Enrollment to CA COVID-19 Vaccination Program is limited to providers authorized by their local health departments. While COVID19 vaccinations will be available to retail pharmacies in the next couple of months, CLINICARE HAS BEEN APPROVED AS A PROVIDER FOR CALIFORNIA COVID-19 VAC...CINATION PROGRAM and is waiting for its supply to arrive very soon. Our order has been submitted to local health department @lapublichealth and once our supply is allocated (could be any day now), we will start vaccinating everyone who is eligible through the phases we are in. Local Health Departments are making decisions on where to allocate the currently limited vaccine supply by identifying facilities that have the capacity to properly maintain COVID-19 vaccine and meet additional federal and state requirements. All vaccines will be administered by appointment only. Please follow us and our updates regarding our online appointment link as well as through our social media platforms. Please note that the @lapublichealth vaccination appointment portal is being updated regularly and they add new locations and many additional sessions as county’s capacity to vaccinate increases. Please make sure to get an appointment confirmation before you get to the site you selected. Many sites listed might not have the allocated supplies yet, so it is very important to confirm first. Additionally, as of January 13, 2021, to prevent hospitalizations and deaths, to more effectively and expeditiously administer vaccines, and to maintain hospital services to all Californians, especially in the most impacted communities, California will prioritize vaccinating health care personnel, including vaccinators, and all persons 65 years of age or older. This policy of @capublichealth shall be carried out with a deep commitment to equity, without profiteering, and in a manner that ensures no doses are wasted. @clinicarerx #clinicalpharmacist #youractionssavelives

The year 2020 was very difficult for everyone in the world due to COVID19 pandemic. It was, however, also devastating for Armenians all over the world, especially those living in the homeland as they lived through another genocidal attack and suffered many losses. The year 2020 was very challenging for everyone in the world as we had to learn to live differently work and teach differently, study differently and even socialize differently. It was, however, also very disapp...ointing to learn so much about so many who simply did not learn any lessons from challenges of 2020. The year 2020 was very challenging for me and my entire team of clinical pharmacists, interns, and technicians as it was a year of more responsibilities to our community in trying to keep patients and staff safe while continuing the vital work of our pharmacy and commitment to professional excellence. As we say goodbye to 2020, please celebrate safely. We can step into a happy and healthy new year if we continue following all public health measures and stay home with those who live with us. From all of us at Clinicare Happy New Year! This year more than ever, the wishes for a Healthy and a Peaceful New Year, ring even louder and truer. May 2021 bring Peace and Health to the World! #happynewyear #staysafe #stayhome #stayhealthy #staystrong
