Protect your eyes! The following pictures are a couple of my recent patient's eyes after they did some metal work. It's important to be seen soon, as metal will begin rusting on eye surface as seen by the arrows. This is pretty common, but can permanently affect your vision if it scars over central part of vision. Some tips and info from Dr. K - Try to use glasses instead of contact lenses as this will reduce the amount of times you touch your eyes. Also, people using contacts tend to rub their eyes more due to irritation or dryness. - Pink eye occurs in about 1-2% of Coronavirus cases, but allergic conjunctivitis is also common during this time. So, if you're having any red eye symptoms, don't panic , rather give us a call. I'll be able to consult you over phone or video. - Hydroxychl...oroquine has long been known in the eyecare world as having potential for retina damage. However, damage is usually seen after prolonged years usage of this drug and in only a small percentage of people. Dear Patients, Due to the current Pandemic status the following changes will take place at our office: - Anyone scheduled for the next few weeks will be contacted by our office tomorrow 3/17. Our schedule will be adjusted to create larger gaps between patients visits. Our normal office hours will continue. - We will continue to be available for appointments where eyecare is necessary , including urgent and emergency eye issues. Please call ahead of time before showing up. By... appointment only. - We will be available for patients to pick up contact lenses or eyewear. However, you are urged to call before arriving as we will limit how many persons will be allowed in the office at one time. - For prescriptions or other desired paperwork please call so we can email them to you. - If you are scheduled for your appointment, PLEASE try to only bring yourself. If NECESSARY, you can bring a maximum of only two other people with you. - If you or anyone in your household has traveled to any COVID-19 hotspots or internationally within the last 30 days you will be rescheduled. If you have any symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose you will be rescheduled. These are a few of the measures I have taken in order to improve ALL our safety. Our office is well maintained and continues to be sanitized above and beyond the standards. I look forward to contributing however I can to our community during this difficult time. I encourage everyone to not panic , but use this time to improve.
