UPDATE: Salons in Alameda County cannot open to perform hair services even outdoors. Sorry to disappoint you. Changes, Requirements, and Assurances Pertaining to Outdoor Hair Services During Covid-19 July 21, 2020... It has just been announced that hair stylists may do clients’ hair outdoors. Clearly, performing hair services negates the ability to remain six feet from clients, despite some creative memes I’ve seen. I will be taking all the precautions I can to protect myself and my clients from contracting this virus. I am high risk and very concerned about exposure. That said, please stay home, wash your hands, and socially distance unless it’s truly necessary. I will be scheduling appointments and performing hair services in the driveway Monday through Thursday. You must wear a mask correctly covering nose and mouth for the duration of your appointment. I will provide hand sanitizer for you to use upon your arrival. Please come alone. Yes, that sounds ominous, but let’s limit exposure. There will be only one client here at a time and I’ll need a gap between clients for disinfecting. Hair washing is prohibited. Please arrive with clean hair. You will have to rinse any color product when you get home. I will not be blow drying or styling hair and am not providing free bang trims at this time. Partial highlight, overall color, and haircut services will be provided. Full highlights, bleach, and permanent straightening/curling services are not available currently. As no one will be entering the salon, the bathroom will not be available for your use. Please plan accordingly. I have raised the price for all services by $5.00. I will not be taking credit or debit cards. If you pay with cash, please bring the correct amount. I will be wearing a fresh mask during your appointment as well as a face shield. All exposed surfaces will be disinfected between each client’s use. Your towel, cape, combs and tools will be freshly washed and disinfected as well. I’ll have bottled water available for you.
