Marston Robotics brings home another trophy! These 3 amazing Mariners competed against 53 other teams at the So Cal FLL Robotics Championship Tournament at Lego...land on Saturday, December 7. We are very proud to say that these 3 girls brought home a Second Place Trophy for their Innovative Research Projecta disability friendly grocery store. It was their amazing teamwork and Gracious Professionalism that got them to the Championships, but it was their dedication to making a difference in people’s lives who have disabilities that won them the Research Trophy. Please congratulate them when you see them. Thank you to the teachers that allowed the girls time during school to work on their project. Thank you to Marston PTSA for being our sponsor. And thanks to Lori Holland, Science & Robotics/Engineering teacher for your fearless leadership! See more

From our science and robotics teacher, Lori Holland. Way to go Marston! Marston students take home another robotics trophy at their qualifying tournament at Hi...gh Tech High Mesa this past weekend! Chloe, Gabi, and Honoré impressed the judges with their teamwork and Gracious Professionalism, earning them First Place in Core Values. This trophy and their performance in the robot game, robot design, and project sessions earned them a spot at the FIRST LEGO League Robotics Championship at Legoland in December. Eva, Jocey, and Max also showed strong standings at the tournament in all areas of judging and placed 6th in the Robot Game. I am extremely proud of all of my Robotics team members who worked so hard over the past 10 weeks. It speaks volumes that these students are willing to put in so much extra effort in a class that is not graded. They all competed in a friendly community robotics tournament at Sea World last Wednesday along with iMiddle students and high school students from Clairemont and Mission Bay acting as judges. We even had the press there thanks to a couple of Mr. Paulson’s video production students, Rochelle and Noelani, and Calvin acting as Master of Ceremonies and scorekeeper. Students not only competed in solving real world problems, teamwork, robot design, and the robot game, but they were also treated to some behind the scenes action with the killer whales and a visit from a friendly animal ambassador, a sloth. I am grateful for this new partnership with Sea World and looking forward to an even bigger event next year. Please congratulate all of the team members for another very successful robotics season!
