I’m so happy to announce I’m allowed to work legally again. I’ll be responding to all emails, messages, and DMs as they come in this week. Thank you so much for the ongoing support and staying on this crazy ride with me. Just as before all required precautions are being maintained in the salon in order to keep everyone safe and healthy. Also please keep in mind everything is taking a little longer these days as I haven’t been able to see many of you as regularly as we al...l would like. Thank you all again so much! Also don’t forget to shop our online store for all your haircare needs the link is in my bio and use code CLAIRE when you check out. One of my amazing clients shared this with me and I wanted to share with all of you! As we wrap up another year and head into a new one it’s a great time to check in with ourselves. You simply make 5 lists that I’ve included below. It's been a powerful exercise in honest reflection, and I did it on my own but you can do it with your partner or even both! I hope you find it helpful, especially after this universally challenging year: #1 - Things I want to leave behind in the c...urrent year - the intention here is to let go of unnecessary baggage and not carry it into the new year. #2 - Things I am grateful for in the current year - expressing gratitude literally makes you feel good and while this year has been hard, it's even more valuable to reflect on what you're grateful for. #3 - Things I want to preserve in the coming year - commit to strengthening what you do have versus lament what you don't have. #4 - Things I want to reclaim in the coming year - recapture what is yours, don't wallow in regret. #5 - Things I want to create in the coming year - build something new to be grateful for in the future. . . . #mondaymotivation #2021 #highlights #beachyhair #prettyhair #hair goals #balayage #babylights #brunette #caliblonde #gratitude #bossbabe #sfcolorcollective #ighair #blonde #beauty #thestudiolosgatos #losgatos #bloggerhair #selfimprovement #bayareastylist #clairecolors

Haircuts.... somewhere a long the line they became a dirty word that almost no one wants to hear their stylist say You need a haircut. Trust we’ve all had bad ones and maybe have a little of anxiety around getting one. Worried our stylist is going to chop all our hair off. Let me tell you getting frequent trims is actually the key to that healthy hair of your dreams. This year is the year we stop clinging to things that are no longer serving us, this includes our split en...ds. So while trimming your hair more frequently will not make your hair grow faster it does make sure it’s not splitting and breaking off. Click the link in my bio to put in a request for an appointment, when we reopen in California. Or drop me a DM. Concern or Complaint : Hair Loss So many of my clients have expressed that they feel like they are losing more hair than ever before during these unprecedented times ( everyone’s favorite term). While hair loss isn’t painful or dangerous, but that doesn’t make it any less scary. Here are a few things to keep in mind before you go full PANIC mode.... 1. We shed approximately 50 to 100 strands of hair each day. So if you haven’t brushed your hair or its been in a messy bun for 3 days. When you wash it or brush it, it’ll seem like there’s a lot of hair coming out, realistically all that shed has just been stuck in your bun. 2. If you’re losing way more hair than usual or if the hair is coming out in clumps, that would be considered abnormal or excessive. 3. STRESS I know we are all feeling it right now. It plays a huge factor in hair loss. So do major life changes for example moving, homeschooling children, change or loss of a job, break ups just to name a few. I think it’s safe to say all of us have experience a major life event during the pandemic. 4. Poor Diet and Lack of Exercise. Remember what we put into our body comes back out and can show up in different ways. If you aren’t getting the proper nutrients your hair will suffer. Exercise can help manage stress as well as promote circulation aka get blood to your scalp which feeds hair follicles. 5. Dry Shampoo. I love it more than life itself but remember your scalp is skin, which means its pores can also get clogged just like your face. So make sure you’re doing a good job cleansing your scalp. 6. Products if you really feel like your hair loss is a problem start using products to promote hair growth and a healthy scalp. @oribe Serene Scalp Line is a great line. I swear by @nutrafol hair vitamins they have lines for both men and women All in all, STAY CALM. Stressing about hair loss is only going to work against you, so taking a chill pill is the best medication for a full head of hair. And be patient: Hair growth takes time, usually half an inch a month. Even hair-loss treatments that work take time, so you usually won’t see results for three to four months. . . . . #hairoftheday

Concern or Complaint : Dull or Brassy Blonde There’s are a few things that factor into your blonde becoming dull or brassy. 1. Hard water... your water plays a huge part in your hair color. Mineral build up can create a hue or dull appearance to your blonde. Solution : Use a clarifying shampoo once a week followed by a deep conditioning masque. ... 2. Hot Tools... either they are old or you aren’t using them with a heat protectant. Think a piece of toast in a toaster. Solution: treat yourself to a new hot tool most of them last about 3 years max! And grab a heat protectant 3. Blonde Shampoo... fun fact, blonde shampoo when over used mutes your blonde leaving it dull. You need that brightness, also most people aren’t a candidate for blonde shampoo. It has to be light and yellow to justify using it. And even when you do use it do so sparingly, like once a month MAYBE. So just chill on that purple shampoo. Clarifying Shampoo: @unitehair Weekender or @Oribe Clarifying Cleanser Heat Protectant: @unite 7Seconds Glossing Spray or @Oribe Soft Lacquer Spray You can grab all your products for at home care through our salon website. Use code CLAIRE for free shipping. The link is in my bio.
