WE WILL NEVER FORGET Today we remember all who tragically lost their lives in an attack on our country. We also honor the incredibly brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for those in need.

There’s construction going on in Carmichael! The new multi-purpose building at Our Lady of the Assumption Church and School is out of the ground. The program calls for a new gym, stage, classrooms, commercial kitchen meeting room and restrooms. The parish and school communities are looking forward to building completion in mid-November.

Paradise Rebirth Our Savior Lutheran Church In a matter of just a few months, this building was designed and construction began to replace what was completely lost in the 2018 Camp Fire that destroyed the city of Paradise. Throughout this time, the congregation has remained united and recognizes this new building as not only a physical rebirth but a spiritual one as well. Progress photos show the steel beams for the tower structure; the dead flat concrete slab that became t...he foundation and floor of the new structure; a crane raising the end wall of the Chancel at the end of the Nave where the Altar will reside and sermons will be delivered; the sheathing going onto the walls. The project is on schedule for rough framing and ready for the next phase of construction. Great progress!

Construction on the Lighthouse Charter School Multi-Purpose Building is almost complete. The contractor is working on the punch list items this week and will be turning over the keys to the school next week. We can’t wait to see the looks on the students faces once they see the colorful new addition to their campus! Project size: 9,970 sf Project Cost: $2.3 M Construction Schedule: 7 Months

We’re proud of the project and excited to have Penumbra located here in the greater Sacramento region.

A bright moment Lighthouse Charter School is a TK-8 charter school located in West Sacramento. Since summer of 2019, CJA has been working on phase two of the project a new multi-purpose building that consists of two classrooms, a gym, a small stage for performances, bathrooms, a covered outdoor eating area and a servery for distributing lunches to the children. The general contractor Hilbers Inc. started construction in March of this year. As of this post, workers are inst...alling finishes, dropping ceiling grid and completing finish electrical and mechanical work. The project is on budget and scheduled to be completed 2 weeks ahead of schedule! Teamwork makes the Dream Work! Due to the Shelter In Place order since March, students and parents have not seen the new building on campus, but when they return to school in August won’t they be surprised! Reinventing team meetings and happy hour with Zoom has been fun, funny, engaging and entertaining! To keep it interesting, last Friday’s meeting included an architectural trivia quiz! Who knew that Art Garfunkel studied architecture before becoming a world-famous musician?! Kudos to Yevgenia Watts for winning the game and a prize gift bag of PPE gear! Now she gets to provide the next quiz... and we are ready!
