Today Margret White Elementary second graders took a field trip to Blythe Fire Department to learn about Fire Safety. Thank you Blythe Fire for a job well done and the great experience had by these kids.

The Palo Verde Valley Transit Agency held a Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, April 12th for the expansion of its CNG Fueling Station located on 14th Avenue in the Public Works Yard. This is a public/private fueling station and an important link in the CNG fueling system.

Last week Chief Wade celebrated 33 years with the Blythe Police Department. Thank you Chief Wade for your service and dedication to the City of Blythe and its residents.

Please join us for Blythe Clean up Day this Saturday, April 14th from 7-11am in Todd Park. The first 100 volunteers will receive Blythe Clean up Day t-shirts. Its mosquito season in the City of Blythe and the City’s Public Works Department is taking action to abate the problem. Vector Control has been fogging around the City in the late evenings when weather permits. Mosquito vector cannot be sprayed in windy conditions and is best applied from dusk until dawn when mosquito activity is at its peak. As mosquitoes do not know the difference between the City and County limits, Public Works thought the best way to solve the problem was... to partner with the County of Riverside’s Vector Control Department. Weather permitting, the City and County will fog the entire City and surrounding unincorporated areas on the evening of Wednesday, July 23rd. Nobody likes mosquitoes and the City of Blythe thanks you for your patience as we work through this problem.
