2012 July 1 Update - Completed all roadway paving and installation of emergency closure barriers. Other ongoing work includes: traffic signal at Madrid Ave; landscaping/irrigation work; new concrete median barrier; and perimeter fencing . See Photo album for "2012, July 1: Various Progress Pictures". It is anticipated that all construction activities will be completed in August 2012. Subsequently, the City will conduct an "Opening" Ceremony and the roadway will then be opened to the public. For questions, contact the Torrance Public Works Dept. at (310) 781-6900. Business hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m M-TH and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m on alternate Fridays.

2012 June 3 Update - Completed the concrete edge barriers on the mechanically stabilized earthen (MSE) walls and the final roadway grading. Scheduled to install base paving surface and final paving surface during week of June 11. 2012 May 12 Update - Installed the majority of concrete edge barriers on the mechanically stabilized earthen (MSE) walls. Installed the concrete drainage channel. 2012 April 21 Update - Installed the 2 approach slabs for the bridge. Currently installing concrete edge barriers on the mechanically stabilized earthen (MSE) walls. 2012 March 11 Update - Poured the new concrete bridge deck on March 5. Now preparing to install concrete barrier rails/fencing on the bridge and on the mechanically stabilized earthen (MSE) walls.
