TOMBOY 2011 by Céline Sciamma As you already know by now, she also directed PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE. This is her previous movie.. It's very cute and the story is very simple.... But the charactors that are truely shine. I liked the both kids who played the Tomboy and his/her friend/girlfriend. Especially the friend/ girlfriend was so pretty as if I am seeing another kid Brooke Shields or kid Phoebe Cates or even Jennifer Connelly. There are two very cute electric pop songs that are truely memorable. One is when they fell in love, they dance like crazy. We see them and we forgot all the worries for a while. The first song is played there. The second song was the end theme. When they decided to be friends again at the very end. But let me tell you. This is not a lesbian love story. It's more like coming of age story. Yes, I spoiled the movie. But who cares. It's great and if you see this movie, you will already feel what will come next from this woman director. NEVER LOOK AWAY 2018 I cannot resist but to write this stupid review. It's just a pure masterpiece. Won two awards from Venice comes this movie is about an artist who struggles carrying everlasting love of his life when he was young. His aunt was forcefully brought to the mental hospital under the Nazi regime. That moment he saw her almost dumped into the ambulance became his trauma. But when he became an art student and meets this beautiful woman who looks just like her,... he begins to shine. Same as Toto Le Hero 1991. His life and artistic history. Although the parents of her didn't liked him and try to separate them, their love survived and blossomed. When he finally drow this picture and I see it, I almost cried. It was a masterpiece. All the love, agony, weight of time. It depicts everything. The gone aunt he loved all his life- I think the reason he made his wife(finally they were married) stand in the hospital totally naked to take photo and draw it is because when he was young his aunt become half crazy and was naked in front of him. It didn't look ugly but was a pure art. The songs were so beautiful and of course two main actors are unforgettable. Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck is not a new guy. This story happens almost end of the history- Of course the zombie is fiction. Anyway that's not the point. You've gotta watch this. First season was directed by Sung Hoon Kim I personally know we worked together as an AD a long time ago. I gav...e up during the preproduction and went to America and he stepped in to be the First AD. I never liked his own work after he make his own features. Second season, the director has been changed. The Season 2, episode 2 is just a masterpiece. And from than on each episode goes so fast that it feels like 5 minutes each!!! Which is actually about 60 min. If you are subscribed to Netflix, you watch this series right now. You won't be regret. This is not one of those B type Zombie movie. It's a masterfully done historic + fiction film. This is not a joke. It's a very serious world will be end movie. Also the collapse between the prince and the villain is quite energetic. But the ending was a bit stupid. Too easy to solve the problem. But season 3 remains. Approval needed from Netflix. Although it ends w big actress star's face it indicate she will be the next main character, It can be a fake spoiler for season 3. It was not even meant to be made. Who knows. Also roumer says the season will continue for a long time. Let's say Season 10 will come too. Finally they made zombie movies for family yeah!! Delivered from Australia, this movie reminded me of The Sound Of Music (1965)+ Life Is Beautiful (1997)+ Kindergarten Cop + a If you are tired of one of those B movie type Zombies, you should try this one. Story is simple there is nothing to hide. This looser guy who stays with his sister and his nephew happens to see this African Australian Kindergarten teacher and falls in love, tells his sister to participate on a trip to this park with kids include his newphew. Little did he know that near there is the accident happened and people turned into zombies. Now the teacher and him tries to convince the children that all of the things happen right now is part of the game not to make them scare. Little by little this looser guy finds out to be a responsible man and falls in love with this woman. The great part is when they try very hard to make the childern come down telling white lies. Also the very moment when everything becomes safe and they have to stay in this cell for 48 hours to make sure they are not infected. When this looser and the teacher sing song with all the children happily and the sister witness it. It was the very beautiful moment. He seems like a king there. Lots of oldies songs and some pretty darn good zombie attack shots are bonus. And most of all, all the actors include Lupita Nyong'o and Josh Gad, Alexander England are so charming in this movie. A Beautiful Day in The Neighborhood (2019) I always thought that Tom Hanks is an angel. He's got the most pure look as an actor. Never been acted a single roll as a villain. From BIG (1988) to Forrest Gump, Saving Mr. Banks,... you just name it. And from this movie, he finally acts as a true angel who saves this guy's unfortunate life disaster because of his father and his mother's tragic death in the hospital. All because the father abandoned him and his sister and the mo...ther. The hate towards his father ruins his life otherwise should have been a happy one because he got a lovely wife and a damn cute baby. And he even got a good writing job at the most famous magazine company. The children program host Tom was so himself that I cannot think of any other actor doing that roll. Kept me thinking of Sesami Street that I've watched for I don't know 5-6 years when I was a child. Yeah not because I wanted to learn English but because when young, I was mostly all alone and just one program was on Tv during the day time which is AFKN (American Forces Korean Network). They played all kinds of program rerun that were broadcasted from all around American channels. He is an angel all by himself. So calm, always wanted to cange other people's miserable life. Maybe because all his life he was surrounded by lovely children, he become like one, stays like one that make him possible to even see other people's misery and furthermore knows how to change it too. It is always so delighted to watch a guy changed because of another guy. Well this movie was so happy ending not in a corny way but more of a very gentle, natural way that I can sleep really tight without any nightmare at all tonight. I guarantee for that. And for your good night sleep maybe you should watch this movie as well. Will make you so happy.
